It should be known. Third, the twenty-four letters such as Pūja (པཱུ་ཛ,pūja) are the first letters of the Chinese transliteration of the names of the twenty-four places such as Pūlīra (པཱུལླི་ར,pūl·li·ra). Regarding these, in the three commentaries and many Chinese texts such as "Dispelling Errors," after decorating these with bindus and placing them in twenty-four places, after completely transforming them, one should instantly view these places as the form of a wheel without spokes. The meaning of what is said is not merely to meditate on the center of a wheel without spokes, because in all wheels, one meditates on the deities only on the spokes, and this is also for the sake of the deities' places. Therefore, having the form of a wheel is from above the spokes, so being without spokes or having no spokes is the absence of the nature of spokes, having the form of a spoke sheath, and thinking that the external environments are all real. Lavapa said that decorating these letters with bindus is achieved through oral instructions. Although some other early Tibetan lamas do not approve of generating the twenty-four places in this way, Master Marpa said that by reciting the twenty-four letters, in the various places of the body, on the empty red spokes of the wheel, on the sun cushion, the deities are placed. Lavapa and others also said to place them in the various places, so it is necessary. Later scholars also did as in the commentaries, which is good. Some Tibetans say that Pūlīra (པཱུལླི་ར,pūl·li·ra), Malaya (མ་ལ་ཡ,ma·la·ya), etc. mentioned in Chakrasamvara, and Miphyema (མི་ཕྱེད་མ,mi·phyed·ma), etc. mentioned in Hevajra, are different ways of saying the names, but this statement is meaningless. Because the external environment and the eastern spokes of the mandala, etc. are said to be Pūlīra (པཱུལླི་ར,pūl·li·ra), etc., and the reason why Miphyema (མི་ཕྱེད་མ,mi·phyed·ma), etc. do not become different ways of saying the names is easy to understand. Even if it acts on the crown of the head, etc. of the inner body, because the crown of the head and the topknot and the left and right ears, etc. are not channels, they are not Miphyema (མི་ཕྱེད་མ,mi·phyed·ma), etc. In the commentaries of Lavapa and Prajñārakṣita, it is also said that the channels exist in those places. Therefore, the channels of the places that were previously generated as Pūlīra (པཱུལླི་ར,pūl·li·ra), etc. are generated as deities, but those places are not generated as deities. Regarding the places of the crown of the head, the topknot, and the back of the head, in the commentary of Vajra Dakini, it is said that the so-called crown of the head is the place of the hair. The so-called topknot is the place of the topknot. The so-called back part
