The basis One of the four exceptional instructions heard. It is the instruction of the five stages based on the glorious Guhyasamaja. Therefore, both Yeshe Nyingpo and Naropa heard the illusory body and clear light instructions of the five stages, mainly relying on Guhyasamaja. Transference of consciousness and entering a corpse mainly seem to rely on the four seats. The way to practice the six dharmas of Naropa is: tummo, illusory body, clear light, transference of consciousness, entering a corpse, and the six instructions of bardo. Among them, dream and bardo are each a branch of the illusory body. It is also good to gather the clear light of sleep into the illusory body. It is easier to explain transference of consciousness and entering a corpse together. In the instructions of Jetsun Milarepa, these instructions are summarized into six meanings: generation stage, tummo, action mudra, understanding the meaning of the view of reality, the clear light of the symbolic path, the illusory dream of the symbolic path, and meaning. It is the essence of Jetsun Lhodrak Marpa's heart, and the ultimate key to the oral transmission of the meaning of recognition is only this. The yogi's profound intention and courage, and the immediate practice are only this. As said, except for the first one, the rest are contained in this six dharmas completion stage. The customs of those who hold the tradition of Marpa's lineage are also the same. Therefore, thinking that this tradition has a deeper instruction than the six dharmas of Naropa is foolishness. In general, all the completion stages of Anuttarayoga require a special method of inserting solitary prana into the central channel beforehand. Depending on each tantra, there are many different customs of the great accomplished ones. But here, it is the tummo based on the navel emanation wheel, through the door of the life force of A-thung, the life force is collected into the dhuti. Therefore, it is necessary to cultivate the great seal of innate wisdom born at the end of the four joys arising from the life force entering the dhuti. Without relying on such a profound method, the stable mind dwelling in bliss-clarity-non-thought, which is long guarded by mindfulness and awareness, without thinking about anything, is for the Great and Small Vehicles and Mantras.

Since it is common to both the Hinayana and Mahayana vehicles, it is crucial to distinguish between the two without mixing them. Therefore, when Milarepa and Gampopa met, Gampopa said, "I have a good grasp of Samatha-Vipassana, being able to enter into prolonged meditation sessions each time." The venerable Milarepa said, "Just as squeezing sand will not yield oil, such Samatha-Vipassana is not sufficient. You must practice my Tummo Atung's life-force exercises." The meaning of these words must be well understood. Tummo is the foundation stone of the path, as is widely known in this tradition. First, placing the life-force energy into the central channel, and on this basis, generating the co-emergent great bliss, then one needs to understand the workings of the other Completion Stages. Tummo places the life-force energy into the central channel, and after mastering entry, abiding, and dissolution, by its power, one is able to prevent the Bodhicitta from leaking outwards, thereby generating the four joys, and based on the co-emergent joy, through the union of bliss and emptiness, generating the co-emergent bliss, which is the meaning of "union of bliss and emptiness" in Tummo. Relying on this co-emergent bliss and emptiness union, during waking hours, practice the illusory body, and relying on the illusory body, practice the clear light, these two; and during nighttime sleep, practice dream illusion, and also first grasp the clear light of sleep, and then enter into the dream state. Since the clear light of sleep is controlled by the power of the winds, it is necessary to be able to gather the life-force energy into the central channel during waking hours beforehand. Therefore, the foundation stone of these two is also Tummo. Only one who has attained such dream illusion can grasp the Bardo at the time of death, therefore, its foundation stone is also Tummo, and the way to gather these three into the illusory body is also the same. Extraordinary transference of consciousness (Phowa) and entering another's body (Grong Jug) are also performed after first sending the life-force energy into the central channel, therefore, their foundation stone is also Tummo here. If understood in this way, then the number of bonds of the path, whether many or few, does not have a particularly important difference, it is sufficient to proceed in a way that is easy to understand. Second, the stages of guiding into the path are divided into two: the ordinary meaning of guiding into the path, and the use of methods to enhance the path. The first point is divided into two: the meaning of the path itself, and the branches of the path.
