Gathering is assembling. By what correct ritual, such as the yoga of the deities that makes these (assemblies) beautiful, is it known? That is, quickly, in this very life, it causes accomplishment to fully enter. The second (part) has three (parts): practicing with animals for the purpose of fire offerings, etc., practicing with corpses for the purpose of great accomplishment, and explaining the yoga of the generation stage, which is necessary for all these purposes. The first (part) is: the practitioner, according to the previously shown order, should attract the meat of the five kinds of animals, such as donkeys, etc., which are completely purified by the five Buddhas, and which are not harmed by oneself, that is, should practice. What was previously shown is the examination of seven births shown in the fourteenth chapter. One should know the seven births, or, if it is common, one can also find meat that is not afflicted by disease and is free from leprosy and skin diseases. Or, by the action of how the hand gestures were previously shown. It is said that the latter is to indicate gestures at the time of making a gathering circle in places and nearby places, etc. Relying on the animals of seven births to practice, one should also practice from the five-clawed ones. In the two commentaries, it is said: The five-clawed ones are dogs, cats, rabbits, etc. According to what is said, there is "animal species and five claws." The hero says: The clawed ones are also the same, and five are explained as turtles, musk deer, dogs, jackals, and horses. Some say that the Sanskrit word for horse appears as "claw" in some Chinese texts, and its meaning is five-clawed, but although it is said so, it does not match the explanation of "animal species and the same five," and "five-clawed" appears as "five claws" in the commentaries, so it must be made into one with five claws. Donkeys and turtles and humans and musk deer, jackals and horses, etc., also include cattle. In the gathering circle for practicing common accomplishments, the meat of these animals is a limb of practice, that is, it becomes a help. Donkeys, etc., are animals, but how can humans be called animals? The Sanskrit word for animals is also used for sacred or supreme, in which case, from the self-satisfied lineages, that is, from those lineages, the supreme animal of the lineage

It is a human being. Because it possesses all the qualities that are praised as the basis for practicing the path. It is said. Among the four-legged animals such as donkeys, the elephant is the most excellent; among the birds such as hawks, the swan is the most excellent. In the category of the word "animal," there is the saying, "Among the animals, the turtle is king," and the turtle king refers to a snake with a jewel. Some say that among the animals born from water, the turtle is the king, the chief. These are explained from the perspective of the meaning of the word "animal" being extended to mean excellent. The gods are Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. By performing inner and outer fire pujas to these gods with mantras and the meat of the five domestic animals, their faces can be moved, that is, they can be made to obey one's will. Some explain it this way. Others omit the words "the gods" and say, "Through sheep, buffaloes, and domestic fowl, they play in various forms, and therefore they can make the faces of the gods, that is, the non-gods, turn." This is how they explain it. The words "the gods" are not found in the other two translations and commentaries. The types of meat are the same as mentioned before. When enjoying the tsog in the mandala for accomplishing common attainments, it is said that the meat of those domestic animals is permissible. Also, the meat of crows, terns, vultures, parrots (ministers), cranes, partridges, and katampas, By eating, performing fire pujas, and offering tormas to the deities, all desired attainments will be accomplished. Here, the jackal is listed among the birds, which is an error due to translating from an incorrect version, and it is not found in Bhava's commentary either. The second is, the mantra of the beautiful obstacle, or the root mantra, or the heart mantra, recited a hundred thousand times, the practitioner who has obtained the signs of accomplishment, finds a beautiful corpse of an obstacle or another corpse that is undamaged and not decayed, on the eighth or fourteenth of the dark moon (the waning phase of the moon in the Tibetan calendar), on a mountaintop or in a cemetery, in the center of the constructed mandala, the corpse is placed supine with its head facing east, the practitioner sits facing east at the heart of the corpse, with offerings of milk porridge made from black dog and black cow's milk, beans, black meat, and black rice, in order to accomplish the desired attainments, without fear, the beautiful obstacle's...
