Sung! Therefore, the round gathering refers to gathering downwards from one's own head and gathering upwards from the feet, both ends being the heart center, meaning until reaching the heart center. Krishnacharya explains that everything from the head to the feet is gathered into the seed of the heart center, then into the bindu, and then into emptiness. Having gathered into the heart center in this way, the yogi enters the ultimate clear light. Its example is shown by the four words "breath," just as when breathing on a mirror, the mist gathers from all directions into its center, one's own body from top to bottom, front to back, left to right, all gather into the center of the heart. Subsequent dissolution refers to first gathering the vessel and its contents into clear light, and then gathering oneself into clear light. "The self is thus" means that Krishnacharya explains that it is good to do it like the round gathering. "Again and again" means that both of these are needed repeatedly. The example of subsequent dissolution is like a snowball floating on water gradually melting. Regarding this, in the Transformation of Desire it says, "Droplets," but the old translation is correct. One's own body gradually decaying, both have this, but it is only the difference of whether or not other vessels and contents were previously gathered. The meaning of the term subsequent dissolution is as explained above, and roundness refers to one's own body and the emptiness it possesses, which Abhaya explains is the meaning of round gathering, that is, the body enters into clear light and is held. Through the two meditations, the ultimate position of gathering is made in the heart, thereby manifesting the actual clear light, which is the view of the Holy Father and Son. Although this visualization of the stages of gathering does not explicitly state the actual gathering of winds, if this visualization is performed, in reality the stages of gathering of winds will reach the unsurpassed level, because in the state of speech isolation, all three of life force, effort, and meditation are gathered into the heart, thereby drawing out the means of the four emptinesses. It is necessary to understand this, and due to familiarity with this, in this case, through the visualization of the stages of gathering, winds and bodhicitta can also be gathered into the heart, thereby entering into clear light. Therefore, when the illusory body practitioner meditates on the means of entering into clear light, the reason why the two meditations are taught is because of this. Moreover, Yeshe Dorje also says in the Kunlas Buté (All Gathered), that external mudra and samadhi are also necessary.
