Its function is also the same as this. It is said in the scriptures that illusory body can be integrated into clear light through the second dhyana, which means that by gathering the wind-mind into the heart and repeatedly generating the four emptinesses to make them proficient, when the clear light of meaning is realized, the illusory body is also purified, which is for the benefit of sentient beings. When the illusory body practitioner meditates on the second dhyana, he should practice the three-tiered Vajrasattva as described in the eleventh chapter of the Root Tantra and its commentary, the Lamp Illuminating. It is excellent that the content of the tantra and commentary has become oral instructions. The method is to first contemplate that one's own body and the bodies of sentient beings are inseparable, one's own speech and the speech of sentient beings are inseparable, and one's own mind and the minds of sentient beings are inseparable. After that, contemplate the three inseparable aspects as Vairochana, Amitabha, and Akshobhya respectively, which is the Samaya-sattva. Having meditated in this way, contemplate the three syllables Om (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿), and Hum (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) respectively in the three places of the heart of the three, which is the Jnana-sattva. The meaning of placing one's own mind, transformed into a bindu, on the three syllables, which is the Samadhi-sattva, as explained in the Lamp Illuminating, is as follows: The learned and accomplished lamas of the past considered that the short A should be placed within the bindu of the three syllables. Having meditated on the three-tiered sattva in this way, the method of meditating on the absorption stage is as follows: Light radiates from the seed syllable in the heart, and from the head of the Samaya-sattva upwards, and from the soles of the feet downwards, it is absorbed into the Jnana-sattva in the heart. All the Jnana-sattvas are also gradually absorbed into the Samadhi-sattva, the indestructible bindu short A, and it is also absorbed into the clear light, and the mind remains unwavering. This is the three-fold absorption of body, speech, and mind. The method of the subsequent arising stage is as follows: Light radiates from the seed syllable in one's own heart, and first all external and internal phenomena other than oneself are transformed into light, and this mass of light gradually enters oneself. After that, one proceeds as in the absorption stage. Generally speaking, the syllable Om is contemplated at the crown of the head, and the syllable Ah is contemplated at the throat, but the reason why it is said here that all three syllables are contemplated at the heart is that the ultimate place of absorption for the means of generating clear light is the key point of the heart. Thus, practice extensively.

The first sign of entering the Vajra luminosity that stops one's own mind with calm abiding is like a mirage; Then like smoke; then the appearance of space, like a firefly; then the four that burn like a candle appear. In sequence, earth dissolves into water, water dissolves into fire, fire dissolves into wind, and wind dissolves into the first appearance of the three consciousnesses. Then, as previously stated, the experiences of appearance, increase, and attainment arise as the three dissolve into the former and the latter. Then, when near attainment dissolves into luminosity, one appears like the autumn sky without clouds, free from the three factors of deterioration, like the sky at dawn. Because subtle dualistic appearance is impure, until the meaning of suchness is manifestly realized, during the time of the example luminosity, although the color of the sky appears as previously stated, in the face of the wisdom of manifest realization, the aspect of color does not appear. It is merely a designation for purifying the stains of elaboration. These should also be understood in detail in the "Clear Lamp of the Five Stages." Second, having meditated on the three-tiered deities of the three families in this way, this practice of the stages of entering the luminosity of the two dhyanas is not limited to this time alone. Moreover, by the power of meditating on the subtle and so on, one can draw out the four emptinesses that arise from dissolving the winds into the central channel. One should also meditate from the stage of accomplishing the illusory body in accordance with waking and dreaming. That is, in general, during all four emptinesses, remember the view and meditate by combining bliss and emptiness. In particular, during the fourth emptiness, luminosity, make efforts to prolong the time, and after remembering the meaning of the decisive view, concentrate single-pointedly on the samadhi of combining bliss and emptiness and meditate. At that time, the four signs as previously stated will appear, and one will enter luminosity through the stages of the four emptinesses. Third, the completion stage of indivisible union is: as previously stated, meditate on the dawn luminosity, and after receiving the instructions on how to accomplish union from that, meditate. By preceding the meaning luminosity, the union of learning is ultimately accomplished. The way to accomplish it is to generate near attainment from luminosity in reverse order, and from that to generate the sun.
