Ro! As the wise ones say, this appears to be the profound intention of the Vajra Garland. Thus, the measure of the completion of the Vajra recitation of the root wind is the complete liberation of the heart chakra knot. The measure of the completion of the Vajra recitation of the branch wind is good if done as just explained. By doing Vajra recitation, the wind dissolves into the central channel, and the four emptinesses arise. This can also occur from the inferior state of not completing the Vajra recitation. Solitude of the body, meditating on the mantra bindu in the heart, and the time of Vajra recitation—in all three cases, the four emptinesses arise when the wind dissolves, and although they seem generally similar, one should know that there are great differences internally due to the difference in causes. By means of a similar Vajra recitation, the emptinesses that are induced, both before and after, also have differences such as whether the wind is purified or not, the intensity of the wind gathering, the degree of dissolution, and the amount of prior practice of bliss-emptiness union. One should also know that from these differences, various ways of entering the path gradually arise. The difference between the inner heat (Tib. གཏུམ་མོ་, tummo) inside the central channel initially burning at the navel and the secret place, and the ordinary outer heat of the central channel burning, and the way heat burns, such as burning from deep within the body or burning from the surface like between the flesh and skin, the size of the initial heat, the speed of the heat rising upwards, and the differences in thinness and thickness, etc., are similar to how bliss arises, and on top of the many stages, there are differences such as the burning of special inner heat, the burning of ordinary heat, the bliss induced by wind alone, and the bliss of the melting essence, which one needs to understand well. If special inner heat burns, then a corresponding melting of bodhicitta will occur, and although diseases of imbalance of elements will not arise, in the burning of other heat, there is no certainty that bodhicitta will melt, so there is often an increase in lust, and suffering from heat without much decrease in bliss, etc., will occur. If the burning of inner heat becomes essential, then not only will it cause the white bodhicitta to melt and increase, but the melted and descending bodhicitta will also cause the inner heat of the red bodhicitta to increase, it is said. In short, the preliminary path of the completion stage cultivates emptiness in a special way, and the subsequent path of the completion stage is even more elevated.

If one does not practice the previously mentioned methods of applying pressure to the body's key points, or similar methods, to cause the prana to dissolve into the dhuti nadi, and if the prana that enters there does not ignite the tummo and generate the co-emergent great bliss, then without the union of bliss and emptiness that contemplates the meaning of selflessness, the union of bliss and emptiness that surpasses the emptiness meditation of the lower three tantras and the generation stage and below will not arise. Therefore, one must understand that it is essential to seek the completely pure meaning of selflessness, and to practice after thoroughly understanding the profound path of applying pressure to the body's key points, and to at least find the co-emergent bliss, and then practice the union of bliss and emptiness, and when the prana moves and rises from it, one must alternately practice the method of applying pressure to the body's key points again. Third, if one cultivates the life force at the two points on the tip of the nose as previously mentioned, and prana dissolves, then there will be very few obstacles to vajra recitation. The oral instructions have repeatedly stated that vajra recitation should be done slowly. Even if one is skilled in the method of exhaling and inhaling and holding it slightly, very serious obstacles will not arise. Most of the major obstacles that arise in prana practice seem to be due to a lack of skill in the key points of the initial training, so one should thoroughly understand the training method. However, if prana dissolution has not occurred beforehand, and one performs vajra recitation for a long time, although it is not certain to work for everyone, the method for eliminating the occurrence of obstacles, such as how to deal with the stinging sensation that arises from the point where some prana has gathered, has been explained previously. If phenomena such as smoke, rays of light, or hair-like powder emanate from the body's locations, it is difficult for the prana to gather at the key points, so one should gather the prana and do a lot of gathering to prevent it from scattering. If many such phenomena appear from the outside and seem to enter the body, it is a sign of prana gathering and is not a fault. Furthermore, if one feels that the skin of the head and other areas is very thick, and the roots of the hair and other areas are itchy, and there is a sensation of eating between the flesh and skin, as well as heat, cold, tingling, etc., and many creatures eating, entwining, and sticking, it is a sign that the prana is gathering slightly, but the way it gathers is not as desired.
