The more subtle it is, the easier it is to reverse thoughts and their mount, the wind. If you meditate on something very bright, it is easy to cut off dullness, but the clarity in samadhi will be reduced. Regarding how to focus the mind on the object, it is said in the scriptures that one should focus in the manner of the mind entering the subtle object. Do not do it in the manner of looking from this side to that side, but rather like the mind with an object dissolving into that object. If you practice in this way, you will have the experience of the mind merging with the bindu, which makes it very easy to gather the winds. When focusing in this way, being too tense or too relaxed will generate agitation and dullness, so avoid these two extremes to hold the mind. If, as explained in the scriptures, you have gained stability in the coarse and subtle stages of the generation stage, then you should press the key points on the major pulse knots and practice gathering the winds in sequence based on that. Although it is meaningless to talk about whether the object is clear or not and whether the mind is focused on the object or not, this is for those of us who blindly pursue higher levels without having the experience as described earlier. These two methods need to be understood in all other stages as well. If the way of meditating on the subtle aspects of the lower gate in this method is practiced as the completion stage, if you do not practice in this way, the power of the subtle aspects will not be complete, and you will lose the key point of practicing body isolation. Apart from understanding its meaning, the subtle object of focus and its location, and focusing the mind on it, have already been explained in the previous stage of the generation stage, so for the supreme path, the instructions for pointing out the object have not been interrupted. If it is difficult to clearly visualize the subtle object, you should strive not to deviate from the object's location and focus on holding the mind, and make it clear from time to time. Even if the object is clear, but appears in another location, or disappears, you should practice as before. From the point of finding a state of natural abiding, you should increase the power of the mind to hold it. If you do not do this, even if the mind becomes clear, you will not be able to cut off subtle dullness, and if you cannot cut it off, even if you gain stability of mind, it will be difficult to gather the winds, so you must make the object bright and have intense light, and increase the power of the mind, both of which must be done. If it is difficult to cut off agitation, relax a little. If it is difficult to cut off dullness.

Focus the mind intently on the subtle mark at the tip of the nose, and meditate on clearing dullness and the lower gate. Secondly, the stages of generating experience from meditating in this way are: by maintaining the mind free from dullness and agitation, maintain the samadhi continuously between each rest and each session, and cultivate it until it becomes stable. At that time, how the observation point of the wind comes about is: first, the sign of entering the central channel (དྷཱུ་ཏཱི,梵文天城体,dhūtī,梵文罗马拟音,dhūtī,central channel), and then the sign of dissolving into the bindu (དྷཱ་ཏཱི,梵文天城体,dhātī,梵文罗马拟音,dhātī,bindu). The first is that before meditating, the air flows alternately between the right and left channels. Through the power of subtle meditation, the air will quickly and definitely tend to flow simultaneously. Although subtle yoga can only allow the air to enter the central channel (དྷཱུ་ཏཱི,梵文天城体,dhūtī,梵文罗马拟音,dhūtī,central channel), once it has entered, it will no longer alternate between the right and left channels. Secondly, from this point onwards, by meditating with contraction, the flow of air in the nostrils will weaken. When examined carefully in the end, the subtle flow of air will also stop. If it is difficult to determine the method of observation, then when the body is upright, motionless, and resting comfortably, observe whether the abdomen moves or not. If it seems to move slightly, it is a sign that it has not stopped. This observation is especially important for observing whether the downward-clearing air below the navel enters and exits the lower nostrils. The cessation of the subtle flow of air in the nostrils has two aspects: difficult and easy. If it is difficult to stop, there will be a moment when it feels as if the abdomen is filled with air, and then it will calm down. Immediately after calming down, a special warmth arises from the place where the fire resides between the abdomen and the genitals, and then gradually melts into bliss. The cessation of the subtle flow of air in the nostrils often occurs in those who have accumulated offerings of dullness and have a heavy tendency towards dullness. This is neither entering the central channel (དྷཱུ་ཏཱི,梵文天城体,dhūtī,梵文罗马拟音,dhūtī,central channel) nor dissolving into it, so it must be distinguished clearly. Even if the phenomenon of dissolving into the central channel (དྷཱུ་ཏཱི,梵文天城体,dhūtī,梵文罗马拟音,dhūtī,central channel) occurs, it will not be like abandoning the seed through the path that transcends the world, never to return. The air will rise again and flow in the two channels many times. The signs of the experiential vision that make subtle meditation essential are: first, the experience of something like a mirage; then, the experience of something like smoke; then, the experience of something like a firefly; and then, the experience of something like a butter lamp that is not moved by the wind. The number, size, and extent of these experiences will appear in various ways. These signs
