Although Arhats and Non-returners have abandoned attachment to food and clothing, they still have the desire to seek food and clothing. Similarly, a tenth-ground Bodhisattva, although having exhausted afflictions and the craving for the bliss of the union of the two faculties, it is not contradictory to generate the desire to seek that bliss. If it were not so, outsiders would assume that having desire means having attachment, and speakers would be inferred as having attachment, which would be unavoidable. The Vinaya-vibhaṅga states that for desire, the roots of having attachment and not having attachment each have different causes of fitness. Therefore, saying that exhausting craving for desirable objects cannot rely on mudrā is incorrect; this is the talk of someone who is not well-versed in both Mantra and Pāramitā. After traversing three countless aeons through the Pāramitā vehicle, the eleventh ground of Samantaprabhā, who attains Buddhahood by relying on the Mantra path, and the Samantaprabhā ground who enters the Mantra vehicle from the beginning and attains Buddhahood in one lifetime, although there is no slight difference in superiority or inferiority between the two, the difference between the two paths is not meaningless, because a great difference in distance arises, and because the Pāramitā needs to add another path. Similarly, even if one ultimately relies on the Unsurpassed Path, attaining Buddhahood through countless aeons is not contradictory, because to actually attain complete and perfect Buddhahood, that path needs to be added at the end of three countless aeons. The Vajraśekhara also says: "In the past, the Bodhicitta was the total holder, endowed with skillful means and wisdom, and when one became a Bodhisattva, great joy and wonder arose, and one practiced countless hardships, and in order, one would properly obtain empowerment. With great wisdom, one would reach the end of the ground, and after obtaining the power of clothing, the great wisdom one would dwell in the delightful Akaniṣṭha." This speaks of reaching the end of the ground of learning, and when dwelling under the Bodhi tree, the Buddhas urge one to meditate on the fivefold Abhisambodhi and attain Buddhahood. Again, it says in the same text: "In three countless aeons, the giving and the good results of giving, and obtaining jewels equal to space, is the jewel empowerment. In three countless aeons, practicing the hardships of others,"
