When being criticized, not being happy, and whether there is attachment and hatred, observing that there are none of these, then take it out and place it in front. How should that be clearly explained? Again, praise and criticize, and observe whether there is attachment and hatred. If there are none of these, then merge it into oneself. Meditate on oneself as a magical body of a deity. When praising oneself, anointing with sandalwood paste from the right, and offering wealth and so on, do not feel happy or attached. When cursing oneself, chopping with an axe from the left, and robbing wealth and so on, also do not feel unhappy or hateful, so it is said. Some holders of the oral instructions of this method, while keeping the term "Samadhi Illusion" unchanged, the way to practice it is: By keeping the body's posture and gaze firm, keeping the mind unwavering, thereby controlling the mind. Controlling the mind controls the breath. From this, experiences arise, namely earth, water, fire, wind, mind, mental factors, ignorance, all are empty. The former merges into the latter, and from mirages to dark appearances arise. Then all is empty, like a cloudless sky. Then, in reverse order, from the three appearances arising, the three minds combined with breath, from which arise immeasurable experiences and clear appearances of the illusory deity body and so on. Even if one meditates in this way and does not generate much growth, then the supplementary method is: like the extensive Fivefold Meaning Mother, or if one cannot achieve that level, then focus single-mindedly on the heart of the deity body appearing in the mirror and meditate. First, a clear image will appear, then the image will seem to separate and spread, then it will become unclear and darken, which is near attainment. Then everything becomes clear, and in the state of being like the sky, as previously explained, various experiences will arise. Among them, the former is from the previously quoted "Stainless Light" and "Commentary on the Praise of Supreme Bliss," where the various experiential appearances seen in the sky through retraction are explained as self-blessings, and the self-blessings of the illusory body here are considered to be the same. The supplementary method is: some early Tibetans, when looking at any place, first a clear appearance would appear, then it would become smaller and spread out, and finally it would become unclear and stop, which is based on the explanation of near attainment. When learning the liberation of illusion, practice the Fivefold Meaning Mother during the day when awake, and dream at night.

Regarding the two methods of practicing the Mother Tantra, the first is: While clearly visualizing the deity's form, practice taming the wind-mind with the experience of bliss-emptiness in the throat, thereby generating the experience of the vital point of life-force entering the path, and from that, the liberation of illusion arises. Unlike sleep, which brings dreams, this (practice) does not, hence the difference. The supramundane liberation is: going to Akanishta (Tibetan: འོག་མིན།), receiving the blessings of the guru, seeing many emanations, and hearing the Dharma, etc. Learning the mundane forms is: viewing the Thirty-three Heavens (Sanskrit: Trāyastriṃśa, Tibetan: སུམ་ཅུ་རྩ་གསུམ།) (referring to the second of the six desire realm heavens), Tushita (Sanskrit: Tuṣita, Tibetan: དགའ་ལྡན།), and Akanishta (Sanskrit: Akaniṣṭha, Tibetan: འོག་མིན།), etc., going there, receiving offerings from the sons and daughters of the gods, holding bindus from such states, and displaying various miracles, it is said that these will occur. Abandoning the desire to fabricate those liberations, practice vase breathing in the throat, hoping that those things will occur as they do in dreams. From the instructions on the illusion of equipoise, it says: Focus on the bindu A (Tibetan: ཨ་, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, literal meaning: A) at the heart center, and practice the union of winds. If experiences such as walking in the sky arise, then the liberation of illusion has arisen, and without joy or pride, etc., it is said to practice emptily and openly without obstruction in ravines and cliffs, etc. In the Fourfold Mother, visualizing the deity's form clearly, radiating light from the brow center, etc., offering to the Buddhas, showing various forms of taming to sentient beings, purifying the two obscurations, and then withdrawing the light back into oneself, dissolving those that are the deity's form into light, and relying on absorbing them into oneself through the two meditations, it is said that those liberations as previously described will arise. The second is: In the Fivefold Mother and the Fourfold Mother, the short A (Tibetan: ཨ་, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, literal meaning: A) with five lights, the reality of things is said to be the body of wind and mind, which means: it is not permissible to merely take the form of the letter A that appears in the mind during meditation as (the reality), but rather, the subtle life-force represented by it, and the wind-mind of the innate body of consciousness that clings to it, and from the experience of bliss-emptiness in which those emptinesses arise, the illusory body arises without other interruption, therefore, the meaning of the illusory body arising without other interruption from the wind-mind of the three emptinesses is that the bindu appearing as the deity's form is called the illusory body, and the secret of the instructions that the bindu and the letters are called the illusory body.
