After praising with "I am empty, your body is without," etc., one should supplicate with "Omniscient Yeshe Phungpo Chen," etc. Here, in the old translation of the Five Stages, it is said that after obtaining the instructions on the illusory body, one obtains the nine empowerments including the rosary, etc., and the secret empowerment, and then one praises and supplicates. However, in the Chag translation, it is better to translate that in order to obtain the instructions on the illusory body, one obtains the secret empowerment including the nine empowerments, and then one performs praise, etc. The commentary on Lagmi also explains it in the same way. The former ones, holding the hearing of the three isolations, consider that the previous texts indicate requesting the secret empowerment, and they think that if one obtains the complete vase empowerment, even if one does not obtain the higher empowerments, it is sufficient to meditate on the three isolations, which is very unreasonable. Because one cannot reveal the secrets of the completion stage to someone who has not obtained the higher empowerments that make one a suitable vessel for the completion stage. Moreover, the meaning of the text is also that by holding the hearing of the three isolations, one praises and supplicates for the sake of the instructions on the illusory body. If it were not so, then the one who holds the hearing of the three isolations, having obtained the secret empowerment including the nine empowerments, is said to supplicate, which would lead to the extreme fault that one could meditate on the three isolations even without having received the empowerments such as the rosary beforehand. Naropa said that obtaining the secret empowerment makes one a suitable vessel for the illusory body, which is the meaning of this text. Even if one has previously obtained the complete empowerment, when requesting this instruction, one should perform the three things such as pleasing the lama, and then praise and supplicate, because this is common to both requesting empowerment and instructions. After supplicating in this way, the way in which the disciple asks the lama for the instructions on the illusory body should be understood as explained in the Compendium of Conduct. It also says there that from the beginning of the generation stage to the ultimate of body isolation, it is only a matter of particularly admiring the characteristics of the three vajras, etc. Therefore, in body isolation there is no form of a deity, because the body is only an accumulation of minute particles. The ultimate of speech isolation is also to fully understand the vajra recitation through the stages of entering, etc., and there is no form of a deity in that either, because the sound

Because the mountains are like rocks. The ultimate of complete mental quiescence is also merely the complete knowing of the appearance of one's own nature. There, too, the essence of the deity's body, endowed with all supreme aspects, cannot be found, because the mind is merely appearance. By this reasoning, one cannot find abiding by relying on the conventional. Therefore, one should realize from the master's presence that merely through wisdom, one generates oneself as the deity. The question is as follows: From the time of the generation stage onwards, all ordinary appearances and attachments have been purified into clear light. In this state, visualizing one's own mind as the deity's body, when a discerning person examines it, at some point on the path, it seems necessary to have the deity's body arise not just from faith and aspiration, but solely from wisdom. The reason why this does not occur from the beginning of the generation stage until the completion of mind's quiescence is, or rather, in this way, at those times, one cannot attain abiding in its samadhi by relying on the conventional illusory body. For that reason, it is not just generating oneself as the deity through faith and attention, but generating oneself as the illusory body solely through wisdom that needs to be realized from the master's presence. Thus it was requested. Those reasons are established sequentially, from the beginning of the generation stage until the ultimate of the great secret one family, the three, such as body vajra, and the five families included by "etc.," and the deity bodies of one hundred, etc., are generated through faith and attention with special devotion. Therefore, in the quiescence of the body, there is no deity body of the illusory body, because the body is merely an accumulation of minute particles. The meaning is that even though one has faith in the deity's body with the mind, in terms of the direction of meaning, the image on which the pride of the deity's form arises is merely the elements accumulated from minute particles, and the previous body of the future body. Those explain that for the deity body of the illusory body, it is not just generating oneself as the deity through faith and attention, and that the deity image on which the yogi generates pride needs to be not the coarse physical body. Moreover, until the ultimate of speech's quiescence, there is also no deity image of the illusory body, again.
