Initially, merely practicing the twenty-one times of the three-syllable Vajra recitation, etc., seems to be a great mistake that contradicts the root tantra and all the treatises of the Father and Sons. Explaining the holding of the wind conjunction as Vajra recitation seems to be purely fabricated. Moreover, it also contradicts many views of our own tradition that consider it as the wind yoga of mind isolation. Therefore, it is necessary to act according to the Four Meanings Mother, and those with wheels should also conform to it. In short, in the treatise of the Four Goddesses' Inquiry, it is mentioned that the mouth should be closed during meals, but apart from some commentaries that explain this as wind conjunction, it is not mentioned in any Indian treatises of the Noble Assemblies. Even if it is done through oral instructions, if it is done according to the explanation in our own tradition's other oral instructions regarding the time of mind isolation, it will conform to our own tradition. If we divide Vajra recitation from the perspective of the object of recitation—wind, there are two types of Vajra recitation: root and branch, and these two can also be divided into four and five. If we divide it from the perspective of the mantra being recited, in the Vajra Garland, two types of Vajra recitation are mentioned: the Vajra recitation of the two syllables Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) and Hoḥ (藏文:ཧོཿ,梵文天城体:होः,梵文罗马拟音:hoḥ,汉语字面意思:霍), and the three-syllable Vajra recitation. However, in the Intentional Explanation and the Later Tantra, only the three-syllable Vajra recitation is mentioned. Lakṣmī and Kalyāṇakīrti, etc., say that there are eleven types of Vajra recitation: the six realms, wrathful deities, the three poisons, and hermaphrodites, and they consider this to be the meaning of the thirteenth chapter of the root commentary. The view of the Lamp Illuminating is: by examining the suchness of the three syllables, one comes to understand its meaning, in which the Vajra recitation of body, speech, and mind is explained. After that, the Jewel Recitation and the Unobstructed Recitation are said to be the main parts of Vajra recitation, so the first three are not fully qualified as Vajra recitation. Vajra recitation is said to be mind recitation, and wrathful recitation is said to be speech recitation, so it is very clear that it is not Vajra recitation. The recitation of the three poisons is explained as thinking of placing sentient beings with the three poisons in the clear light, so there is no wind recitation in that. The recitation of hermaphrodites seems to be meditating on clear light, so there is also no wind recitation in that. Those are also not said to be Vajra recitation. What is said to be the main part of Vajra recitation is, in the tantra, the meaning

The recitation that follows it is: By the good of no-self-nature, All Buddhas of the three times are examined, This is said to be the precious recitation. In all Buddha-fields, Clouds of bodies are spread out, Going and coming is the meaning of vajra, This is said to be the unobstructed recitation. Thus it is said. In the second line, there is a change of omission, it should be "By the good of the arising of no-self-nature," this is good. The meaning of these is: The recitation that follows the meaning of the three syllables, the three of entering, rising, and abiding, is the recitation that follows the meaning. The good that arises from the nature of indestructibility, that is, the cause of the uninterrupted and ever-increasing continuum, that which examines well and fully knows the Buddhas that arise in the three times of rising, entering, and abiding, that is, having realized that the winds of the nature of all Tathagatas are the nature of indestructibility, is the precious recitation. This is an explanation that is in accordance with the good translations of this commentary. That is the meaning of gathering all the winds into indestructibility by the vajra recitation. Having gathered and dissolved in this way, when it arises again, in the Buddha-field, from the indestructible lotus in the heart, everywhere, that is, in the doors of the sense bases such as the eyes, the clouds of bodies, Going out and coming in, and the spreading out of the nature of the meaning of vajra that abides within, whatever that is, is the unobstructed recitation. The former is called the precious recitation, which refers to the gathering of the winds into the indestructible precious jewel by the vajra recitation of the root wind, and does not indicate the recitation of Ratnasambhava of the five families. Having obtained the ability to gather the winds in this way, the one who performs the vajra recitation on the branch winds is the recitation that enters the doors of each sense faculty without obstruction, so it is called the unobstructed recitation, and does not indicate the recitation of accomplished meaning. When quoted in the Five Stages, the former is called the vajra recitation. Except for the Lamp Illuminating, the treatises of the father and sons, and the Collected Five Stages, etc., do not explain the vajra recitation of the branch winds. If one performs the recitation of the branch winds from the previously indicated boundary, one must also recite in the manner of arising from the indestructible in the heart, and by doing so, all the appearances of objects
