It is said that the mind of enlightenment, as small as a mustard seed, should be visualized on one's own vajra, as the nature of the five families, and meditated upon. The Oral Instructions state that, as previously mentioned, meditating in the center of the jewel is not contradictory to meditating in the aperture of the vajra. Meditating on the vajra refers to focusing on the tip of the central channel (dhyuti), and these two are similar. The Oral Instructions state that the light rays from the seed syllable at the heart invite the mandala, and after being placed in the heart, the melted drops that descend reside in the jewel. The Lamp of Clarity states that, like the generation stage of existence where the male and female in the base period engage in equal union, the melted drops of those with attachment fall into the lotus, one should meditate. Therefore, it is evident that the drop produced in this way should be lowered to the lower gate and meditated upon. The color of the drop should be the color of one's own deity, which is the view of the Lamp of Clarity. If one can focus the mind on an extremely subtle drop, it is easier to cut off conceptual thoughts, and it is also easier to stop the karmic winds that cause it to move. If, no matter what one does, it seems impossible to focus on such a drop, one should enlarge it slightly, and once one can focus on it, one should make it smaller. This is because meditating on an unstable generation stage is the fault of skipping stages. If it is stable, there is no reason why one cannot focus on such a drop. The special ways of focusing the mind, how to cultivate it free from dullness and agitation, even if one can focus on the object of meditation, not wanting to stop the breath, and not allowing bliss to arise too much, etc., and the detailed instructions on how to eliminate the discomfort that arises beforehand when one wants to stop the breath, etc., will be explained separately. In this way, by focusing on the center of the jewel chakra or the important part of the body at the tip of the central channel and meditating, the key point of the wind and mind entering as one is that when the mind is focused there, the flow of wind in the solitary channel stops and flows into the central channel, and when one then begins to dissolve into it, five signs will appear beforehand. The Oral Instructions state: "From then on, the secret drop is large, extremely subtle like the previous four, hold your own mind slowly and gently, it transforms into a state of nothingness. That too, by becoming accustomed to holding, the ground of reversal is completely reversed. The appearance like a mirage, know that this is the first sign. Likewise, because the water is overflowing, the appearance of smoke arising, know that this is the second sign. Fire is"

Because of the reversal, the third (sign) appears like space. Because the wind is also reversed in the same way, it appears brightly like a lamp. Know that this is the fourth sign. Likewise, know the various situations of forward and reverse. Because of the reversal, the profound and clear non-duality, the meaning is like a cloudless sky, clarity is the fifth sign. Relying on these five signs, one can attain non-abiding nirvana, therefore yogis should strive for this, this is the limb of holding. So it is said. In the later tantra, it is said that five signs appear at the time of holding, which means that four signs appear before entering clear light, and the fifth is the time of clear light. Entering clear light is also due to the power of practicing the three vital efforts. When practicing the subtle lower gate and the indestructible bindu in the heart, the oral instructions also say that five signs will appear. Know that by practicing vajra recitation of these two, these signs will also appear. The Clear Lamp says that entering clear light through the gate of five signs, although this needs to be explained as exhausting the three vital efforts, entering clear light after obtaining mind isolation and the illusory body, it is not that these signs will not appear in the example of entering clear light in the lower part. Therefore, when practicing the subtle lower gate, entering the clear light of the realm of non-existence through the sequence of five signs, this does not contradict the explanation of the limb of holding. The Tathagata Vajra, meditating on the Hūṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable in the heart and contemplating the wind entering its bindu, this is only symbolic. The combination of subtle ali and kali residing at the root of the navel chakra, or contemplating the bindu at the tip of the vajra, or practicing any yoga such as tummo, will also be said to attain the holding of clear light. The Indian texts of the six-branch union of the Yeshe Zhapa tradition also say the same. This is also excellent. Therefore, grasping the mind at the key points of the body's channels is different from other grasping of the mind. Although the practice method of practicing the subtle lower gate exists during this period, as said before, if one does not know what merits will arise from practicing it, one will find that one cannot determine the key points of the oral instructions. Therefore, in the later tantra, it is good to rely on what the venerable Jamyang (Manjushri) said.
