Thereafter, just as a lion's milk should not be placed in an earthen vessel, similarly, the tantra of the great yogi should not be given to those who are not vessels. The disciple will die instantly, and will be ruined in this life and the next. If the oral instructions are explained in detail to those who are not vessels, the guru's accomplishments will decline. Thus it is said. That is to say, although it is not necessary to newly cultivate the characteristics of the disciple's physical support, the qualities of the support of the mind, such as having faith in the Dharma, having respect for the guru, constantly abiding in the ten virtuous paths, having the wisdom of hearing the scriptures, and having a strong desire to liberate beings, and striving to practice these behaviors, etc., do not arise naturally for beginners, so they need to be newly cultivated through practice. This is merely appearing as the initial suitable vessel, and is not cultivated after entering the mantra vehicle. Therefore, these qualities of a suitable vessel are cultivated by practicing the common path of the two Mahayana vehicles. In the Vajrapani Empowerment Tantra it is also said: Great Bodhisattva, this vast and profound mandala of the great dharani mantra, which is unfathomable, more secret than secrets, and cannot be shown to sinful beings, Vajrapani, you have spoken something extremely rare. If it has not been heard before, to what kind of beings should it be explained? Vajrapani said: Manjushri, those who have entered the practice of cultivating bodhicitta, and when their bodhicitta is accomplished, Manjushri, those Bodhisattvas who practice the conduct of Bodhisattvas, who practice the door of secret mantras, should be introduced into the mandala of dharani mantras empowered with great wisdom. Those whose bodhicitta has not yet been fully accomplished should not be introduced, and they should not even be allowed to look at the mandala. Mudras and secret mantras should not be shown to them. Thus it is said that empowerment should not be given to those who have not fully cultivated bodhicitta. In the "Fifty Verses on the Guru" it is also said: A disciple with pure intention, who has taken refuge in the Three Jewels and follows the guru, should be given the recitation.

In the manner of... Making the excellent Dharma a vessel. Such a pure thought, that is, practicing the mind of enlightenment, and possessing uncommon refuge. After giving the method of relying on the tantric master with thought and action in the manner of the "Fifty Verses on the Guru," it is said that empowerment makes one a suitable vessel. It is also said in the Compendium of Practices: Its order is also like this, first one must train in the thought of the Buddha's vehicle. When one becomes accustomed to the thought of the Buddha's vehicle, then one must train in the new vehicle, that is, one-pointed concentration. Thus, after establishing that entering the path of the Compendium requires gradual practice, not sudden enlightenment, regarding the method of gradual learning, it is said that first one must learn the Buddha's vehicle, that is, the thought of the Great Vehicle, the mind of enlightenment. Regarding the method of perfecting the practice of aspirational and engaging Bodhicitta, it comes from the instructions of the Great Lord (Atisha), that is, first one must properly rely on a qualified Mahayana spiritual friend with thought and action. He will also explain the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment and the importance of meaning, and through mind training, generate a strong desire to obtain the essence of leisure and endowment. The excellence of obtaining the essence lies in entering the Great Vehicle is the most excellent, and the gateway to entering the Great Vehicle is the mind of enlightenment. If one truly has Bodhicitta in one's continuum, then his Mahayana practitioner will not be false. If it is only said verbally, then the Mahayana practitioner is only talking about it. Therefore, a wise person should gradually eliminate the aspects that are contrary to Bodhicitta, thereby generating Bodhicitta that possesses qualities. In this regard, first, if one does not turn one's mind away from this life, then both the small and great vehicles are obstacles to the path, so one must remember death, which will not remain long in this life, and think about the situation of wandering in the lower realms after death, thereby transforming attachment to this life. After that, one must also think well about the faults of all samsara, thereby transforming the mind that craves the perfections of future lives, and turning the mind towards liberation. After that, in order to transform one's own peaceful mind, one must practice love and compassion for a long time, as well as the mind of enlightenment that is the root of it, thereby generating true
