In the 'Lamp Illuminating the Meaning of What Was Spoken,' it explains meditating on the indestructible bindu in the heart. The commentators on the Five Stages also say to meditate on the mantra's bindu in the heart. In the continuation of the questions asked by the four goddesses quoted in the Five Stages, it says, "The supreme, subtle one of half a measure," etc., as previously quoted, which is the same in meaning as the earlier quotation from the later tantra. Also, in the 'Compendium of Practices,' quoting the 'Ornament of the Vajra Mandala,' it says, "In the heart is the short A (藏文:ཨ་ཐུང་,梵文天城体:अ थुं,梵文罗马拟音:a thum,汉语字面意思:A Short) of the indestructible, and the indestructible is the place for gathering the winds." This is also to realize the meaning of meditating on the indestructible in the heart. Furthermore, in the 'Lamp Illuminating' of the third chapter, it says, "The essence of the five Tathagatas of five colors. The jewel is known as indestructible, because it generates the jewel of the Buddhas. The size of a mustard seed is the shape of the bindu. What is called the tip of the nose is the center of the lotus in the heart. What is called diligence is attachment to it. One should always meditate day and night with the yoga of entering, abiding, rising, and gathering." Thus, it is said that one should meditate day and night on the indestructible in the heart with the yoga of entering, etc. The order of meditating on the indestructible and vajra recitation is also from the same passage: "Steadfastness is permanence. What is that? It is the indestructible. From that, one should emanate a collection of rays of five colors, which is a jewel, and enter through entering, abiding, and rising. What is called unsteadfast is that this yoga should be done only by realizing the very nature of the indestructible, and not by others." Thus it is shown. It is said in the commentary on "Emanate after the jewel has become steadfast. Do not emanate if it has not become steadfast." Its meaning is: Previously, it was said to always meditate on the indestructible with the yoga of entering, etc. When that indestructible bindu, which was meditated upon, has become steadfast, then one should perform the yoga of the winds entering, etc., from that indestructible. And realizing the very nature of the indestructible, that is, the steadfastness of the indestructible as the object, others should not perform this yoga of entering, etc. Therefore, the meditated indestructible is permanent, that is, unchanging.

Having prioritized stability, one then engages in Vajra recitation. This explanation is considered the ultimate explanation in the Lamp Illuminating [Tantra]. Some believe that this is the way to perform Vajra recitation based on the support of ultimate union, and thus they explain it in this way. Others explain it as the clear light of the fourth stage of imperishability, but regarding this meaning, in the commentary on the third chapter, which explains it in detail, at the end of explaining the winds of the four mandalas arising from imperishability, it says: "Their body, speech, and mind are through practice, that is, through generating body and so forth, arising from the Vajra, that is, manifested from the clear light, the wheel of deities possessing the nature of the two truths arises." Because it arises from transformation, by performing Vajra recitation, the wind generates union, and it is considered ultimate by way of making Vajra recitation the activity. It is just as the three emptinesses are explained as ultimate in the commentary on the seventeenth chapter. The key to the place where imperishability is meditated upon is the center of the lotus in the heart. As it is said in the Vajra Garland: "In the center of the eight petals of the Dharma wheel, meditate on the bindu of mantra," the meaning is the same. Therefore, it is best to meditate within the Avadhuti (Tibetan: ཨ་བ་དྷཱུ་ཏཱི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अवधूती, Sanskrit Romanization: avadhūtī, Chinese literal meaning: Avadhuti) in the center of the heart, the size of a hand span. To say that the boundary between the black and white of the heart is in the five branches, and that the inside of the empty cavity of the heart is in the four branches, is meaningless. Sanskrit Romanization: dhūtī, Chinese literal meaning: Dhuti) is the life force, meaning that the life force relies on the channel, as it is said in the Great Seal Bindu and the Wisdom Bindu. Therefore, from directly in the middle of the two breasts, on the surface of the life channel, is the center of the heart chakra, so one should focus there. For practices such as pressing bindus on the vital points of the body, if one knows the vital points of the body well and places the mind there, it will become a vital point, otherwise it will not. Regarding the bindu to be meditated upon in that place, although the Vajra Garland does not explicitly mention a bindu other than letters, in the Lamp Illuminating [Tantra] it says that imperishability should be meditated upon as having the form of a bindu. Some of the Gos lineage practitioners believe that one should meditate on a short A (Tibetan: ཨ་ཐུང་།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A short) in the center of the bindu of the union of the sun and moon. The Condensed Five Stages says that one should meditate on the imperishable bindu together with a short A (Tibetan: ཨ་ཐུང་།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A short). In the two instructions of the Golden Seat, it says that there is a white bindu and a black short A (Tibetan: ཨ་ཐུང་།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A short). One says that there is a white bindu.
