Because it arises from the clear light of emptiness, all sounds are equal to space, and have the root of emptiness. Therefore, one should know that all the objects expressed by sound, such as the aggregates, are without self-nature like space. This is the explanation of the suchness of sound. According to one's own tradition, quoting the Agama of the Vajra Mandala Ornament, it is said that the indestructible (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) that burns like a butter lamp in the center of the heart is the meaning. And in the "Nomenclature," it is said that (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) is the most excellent of all letters. In other tantras, it is said that (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) is the door to all dharmas. These must be explained as the same meaning here. That is, in the "Compendium of Practices," it is said that at the end of death, the basis where the winds dissolve is the indestructible. Having explained the meaning of the short (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) in this way, it is said that it is the cause for all vowels and consonants to enter. The meaning of vowels and consonants is also that the winds that arise depending on the indestructible subtle wind, when they reach the places inside the body, become the form of vowel and consonant tones. This is what is meant by vowels and consonants, not the vowels and consonants that arise from the effort of the tongue and palate. In the Sambhuta, it is said that in the center of the eight petals of the navel chakra, the most excellent of letters, the letter (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A), resides, and it is said that all mantras of sentient beings arise from it. This short (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) is the nada of the tummo dust pattern. Here, in the Vajra Garland, it is said, "From what place do the one hundred and eight winds that are spoken of arise and spread?" In response, "The characteristic of the place of the wind is that the wind pervades the six chakras, always resides in the Dharma chakra, and pervades beings as the so-called life. In the middle of the night without conceptualization, arising from the supreme sky, it distinguishes the nature of the wind." In general, the place of the wind is all six chakras, and in particular, the life wind that arises from the emptiness of the heart chakra separates all winds, that is, it shakes and rises, and it is said that this wind pervades all the winds of all beings. When it first forms, the life wind forms from the heart, and when it is finally gathered, it is gathered there. Therefore, it was previously said that all mantras arise from the indestructible short (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A), which refers to the life wind residing in the heart.

This is the indestructible A-thung of the Bodhisattva. It is said in the Man-nye that eight categories of letters reside in the navel, residing in an unclear manner, and at the time of utterance, they arise unclearly in the lotus with the place of origin of wind, and it is explained that they arise clearly from the actions of the palate and so on. The A-thung of the heart is the supreme basis for the arising of clear light, and is the most excellent of all letters, therefore it is a letter of great meaning and sacredness. Coming from within is unborn, and in 'Cutting Through,' it says, 'Great life is not a letter.' Here it says that life is life-wind, and great means supreme. Not being a letter is the absence of the indestructible letter form. Abandoning verbal expression is the absence of the nature of expression. The cause of expression is, in general, all winds, but the indestructible is the main cause. Making all words completely clear is also when the wind that comes from there reaches the throat, words with clear sounds arise. The door of all dharmas is the door of all meditations, because the clear light of bliss and emptiness is the essence of all samadhis. If the indestructible A can gather wind with samadhi, then naturally, the clear light determined by great bliss of unborn emptiness will appear, therefore it is said that it has not arisen from the beginning, do not just think of it as the emptiness of self-nature unborn. In this way, as previously explained, the three, such as where to enter, are the meaning of the indestructible A, and this itself is the ultimate key point of the path to enlightenment, therefore it is said that all Buddhas arise from the A. In short, know that the indestructible of the heart is the root of all winds that internally have the form of vowels and consonants, and from gathering the winds there, realizing the manifestation of clear light, this is the uncommon way of truly knowing the mantra of Vajra recitation, and it is what is said in 'All short sounds become language,' using the meaning within the grasp of words to express other meanings, obtaining the definitive meaning, that is the meaning. Therefore, when pointing with the fingertip, one must look at the meaning it represents, just as one should not only look at the indicator, one needs to not fall into that kind of situation, while explaining the meaning of what was said, it still seems that many are falling into that kind of situation.
