After that, one should understand the true meaning of mantra. When both of these are fully understood through hearing and thinking, then the meaning of Vajra recitation practice follows. The second point is, in the Vajramala Tantra it says: "Thereafter is the supreme truth of the winds, listen to its ultimate meaning through explanation. If a yogi meditates on the winds, he will quickly attain accomplishment." Furthermore, in the Vinayasamucchaya it also says: "Not knowing the yoga of the winds, or even knowing but not practicing, that person will be tormented by various sufferings, becoming a worm in samsara." Therefore, after understanding the yoga of the winds, it is very important to understand the key points of the winds well in order to practice. Not only directly meditating on the winds like Vajra recitation, but also meditating by focusing on bindus etc. in the key points of the body, and also to generate the path through external life force operations, one must also understand this well. Therefore, know that all completion stage practices that strike the body as key points, are all based on a good understanding of how the winds operate, and that practicing the winds directly and indirectly is indispensable on this path. The third point is, how many kinds of differences in the winds should be determined? In the Buddhasamayogatantra and the Jnana Vajra Samuccaya it says: The ten winds are called Koti Khya etc., and are spoken of in ten non-literal ways. In the tantra called Vajradvara it says: Life wind, downward moving wind, fire accompanying wind, upward moving wind, pervading wind, moving wind, varying wind, truly moving wind, extremely moving wind, definitely moving wind, these are spoken of in a literal sense. In the Vajramala and the Intentional Prophecy, the first five are the same as before, and the latter five are: Dragon, turtle, crab, giving to the gods and victorious over the bow. It is said that way, and there are also explanations that the latter five are victorious over wealth. For the two sets of five names, although the terms root wind and branch wind are not explicitly stated in other Agamas, it was composed by the eleven-syllable grammarian. So, are the one hundred and eight winds such as letting go and holding mentioned in the Vajramala included or not included in these ten winds? Some Tibetan scholars think that each of these ten winds has ten different names, and a common name
