Moreover, from that supreme one, therefore bliss is bliss itself, all Buddhas will attain. Thus it is said. As for the phrase "becoming a cause of afflictions," in both the new and old translations of the Compendium of Practices, it is better to translate it as "becoming a cause of bad destinies." To this, someone objects, saying that relying on the five objects gives rise to afflictions, and this also becomes a cause of bad destinies. To this, the answer is that for the afflictions that arise from relying on the five objects, if the Hearers and others have not realized suchness, then it is a cause of bad destinies; if they have realized it, then it becomes a cause of Buddhahood, dividing it into these two cases to answer. It was not said that relying on desirable qualities does not give rise to afflictions. In general, as previously stated, for those who are detached from desire for desirable qualities, seeking desirable qualities such as food and clothing is not contradictory. Merely the five senses enjoying the three kinds of desirable qualities—pleasant, unpleasant, and neutral—and the mind's consciousness having a desire for desirable qualities, does not become afflicted. However, here it mainly refers to the case of not having abandoned attachment to desirable qualities. Among the desirable qualities, it is also being discussed whether it is reasonable to take the desire of the union of the two organs as a path. Because one has not abandoned attachment to desire and does not possess the wisdom of realizing suchness, if one indulges in desirable qualities as one pleases, then attachment to these desirable qualities will arise, and these will also become a cause of bad destinies. Therefore, no affliction can be transformed into a cause of liberation, so it is also not allowed. Even the Lesser Vehicle practitioners who possess the wisdom of realizing suchness cannot transform any affliction into a cause of enlightenment. Because for them, there is no method of transformation like that spoken of in the Paramitas and the Great Vehicle of Mantras, and such transformation also depends on both skillful means and wisdom, which are two special conditions. Therefore, saying "if one knows the suchness of afflictions, it will become a cause of enlightenment" only indicates that there is such a case where afflictions become a cause of enlightenment. It does not mean that anyone who knows suchness, the afflictions that arise from relying on desirable qualities will become a cause of enlightenment. Otherwise, the previously mentioned methods of skillful means that require many non-emptiness views would become meaningless.

This is for the purpose of proofreading. Quoting the teachings of the Shri Chakrasamvara Root Tantra, it shows that the three poisons can transform into both poison and nectar. Therefore, saying that the three poisons are entirely to be abandoned as poison is only for certain individuals, not for everyone. The previous teachings of the Ratnakuta Sutra show that some of the Bodhisattva's afflictions can generate the Dharma of the Buddha, thus showing that no affliction hinders the attainment of Buddhahood. The second teaching shows that afflictions seized by special skillful means and wisdom cannot lead to falling into lower realms. Therefore, for those who are not skilled in means, the afflictions that hinder higher realms cannot hinder those who are the opposite. The meaning of the Ratnakuta Sutra's teachings is: Bodhisattvas who practice the Paramitas, although they have the ability to abandon the affliction of desire, which is the cause of rebirth in samsara, they intentionally do not abandon it but remain with it, because these afflictions can enable Bodhisattvas to perfect their vast activities and thus obtain rebirth, therefore it is said to be the cause of attaining Buddhahood. Furthermore, for special supports like the Brahmin boy Star, if desires are not accepted, then that place has the prohibition of death; if desires are accepted, then desires can be transformed into virtue as desired. This is said in relation to the affliction of allowing adultery. Therefore, transforming such afflictions into the cause of Bodhi, and the method of transforming attachment into the path in this path, are different in all aspects. However, some afflictions seized by skillful means are the source of transforming into the cause of Bodhi, therefore, if afflictions arise from indulging in desirable objects, it will lead to falling into lower realms and becoming an obstacle to Bodhi, thus being able to avoid the fault of contradictions between the teachings. In the Ugrapariprccha Sutra, the conduct of a Bodhisattva householder is taught to those who cannot abandon household desires, however, the vehicle of attachment does not approve of progressing on the path, therefore it is said that one should enter into attachment with the awareness of faults. This is different from those who are tamed by attachment through the unsurpassed path. The teachings of the Yoga Tantra Shri Chakrasamvara Root Tantra also say that in order to increase one's own Bodhicitta, and as a method of increasing one's own Bodhicitta by relying on the bodies of others, it is necessary to seize with skillful means.
