From the instructions on the ground, it is not the realm of those who look outward. One should understand it by following the glorious Guhyasamaja. Listen with a focused mind! Thus, having advised to listen, there are four parts to explaining the meaning of the questions: the answer to the second question, the answer to the third and fifth questions, the answer to the first question, and the answer to the fourth and sixth questions along with the remainder. The first part is: In this Vajrayana, having trained in the generation stage, one attains the eighth bhumi. As long as one has not attained the completion stage, one should continue to please the spiritual friend. Having realized body, speech, and mind, one attains the ten bhumis, individually attaining illusion-like samadhi. Having correctly realized illusion-like samadhi, one individually attains the clear light of the three purified appearances. Having arisen from the clear light of non-appearance, one abides in the state of union in stages. Having manifestly accomplished the deeds of a Buddha, one abides adorned with all the qualities of vajra-like samadhi. This is what is said in the Compendium of Practices. In the Transformation it says: Having realized that body, speech, and mind are completely isolated, one also attains the ten bhumis, individually attaining illusion-like samadhi. And it says: Having manifestly accomplished the body of a Buddha. This clarifies the previous transformation. Apart from just the name "ten bhumis," the establishment of the names of the bhumis and the meaning of the names do not appear in the treatises of the father and son (Asanga and Vasubandhu). In the Vajra Garland, each of the eleven vase empowerments and the three higher empowerments, a total of fourteen empowerments, is a bhumi. Apart from just the number of fourteen bhumis, the name and meaning of each bhumi do not appear. In the Prophecy of Intentions it says: That which the Buddhas rely on, that which becomes a bhumi is the thirteenth bhumi. Apart from saying this, the name and meaning of the thirteen bhumis are not mentioned, and they are not mentioned in the root tantras and other explanatory tantras. Due to that key point, a discrepancy arises. Therefore, in the commentary on the Compendium of Practices it says: When it becomes the final heat, the power of forbearance and supreme dharma, there are twelve superior, intermediate, and inferior combinations, the thirteenth is the most joyous. And it says: From the most joyous to the cloud of dharma, those that are attained after it are purified by union. Like this, it explains the heat, peak, forbearance, and supreme dharma.

For each path of union, there are three levels: small, medium, and large, making twelve grounds. The Extremely Joyful Ground is the thirteenth ground. Vajra recitation attains the eighth ground, the middle level of forbearance, and mental isolation attains the small or medium level of the Supreme Dharma. The illusory body attains the great level of the Supreme Dharma. Luminosity attains the first of the ten grounds of the noble ones, the Extremely Joyful Ground. Compared to the twelve grounds, the path of union can attain the thirteenth ground. Union is said to purify those who have already attained the grounds. The generation stage seems to reach up to the seventh ground. Mudra. The ten grounds refer to the Extremely Joyful Ground, etc. Through the generation stage together with physical isolation, the eighth ground is attained. Through the power of meaning, Vajra recitation attains the ninth ground. By seeing the three appearances, one gains control over wisdom, thereby attaining the tenth ground. The illusory body is its subsequent attainment, so since there is no order of grounds, it is only the tenth ground. Luminosity attains the eleventh All-Illuminating Ground. Union is its subsequent attainment, so it is only the eleventh ground. The ground of a beginner is attained by meditating on the abode of Brahma, etc. Attaining Buddhahood in the same lifetime is the thirteenth ground, they say. In the commentary "Moonlight," although the ten grounds such as the Extremely Joyful Ground are explained, the way of combining the grounds is not clearly explained. Some wise men of the former assembly believe that the ten grounds refer to the Extremely Joyful Ground, etc. The view that the completion of the generation stage, etc., attains the Immovable Ground and the Cloud of Dharma is that the qualities of those grounds are not attained in a complete way, but rather it is believed that the substitutes for those grounds are attained. Some Tibetan scholars believe that on top of the ten grounds such as the Extremely Joyful Ground, from the Abhisamayalankara, "Incomparable and possessing wisdom. The Vajra Ground is the thirteenth ground." The meaning of this is that, from the ten grounds explained by Abhisamaya from the Perfection of Wisdom, the tenth ground is merely the tenth ground. The special path. The path of no obstruction has three, the tenth ground is merely the tenth ground. The special path is incomparable. The path of no obstruction is possessing wisdom. The All-Illuminating Ground is the Vajra Ground, and the thirteenth ground like that is understood from the thirteenth ground explained by indicating the intention and prophecy, all emptiness and luminosity. According to the view of the Compendium of Practices, the illusory body is the eleventh ground, and luminosity is the twelfth ground. Similarly, the thirteenth ground counted from the ground of aspiration.
