According to some schools, generating mental solitude is accomplished by combining and holding the breath, and by focusing on a single visualization sequence, the two combined. Regarding the arising of (bliss-emptiness) dependent on a consort from mental solitude, there is a teaching of five stages. Although this is not explicitly stated in the Compendium of Five Stages and the Golden Rosary Instructions, it seems that there is a teaching in the Mahamudra on how to generally generate bliss dependent on a consort. Some other Marpa lineages believe that instead of holding the breath, they focus on three syllables, and by reciting the vajra recitation in sequence, they purify the three concepts and generate the three wisdoms. The oral instructions of Naropa, transmitted through Nagtso, state that the reality of the mind must be realized with the help of bliss, of which there are two ways: relying on the lower gate of attachment is relying on action seals; relying on the upper gate of non-attachment, if the first of the three ways of generating bliss, namely the garland of letters, merely letters, and without letters, is adopted, then meditate on the rays of light emanating from the three syllables in the heart, melting the (Tibetan: ཧཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) at the crown of the head, filling the heart, and it is said that when bliss arises, one should hold one's breath slightly, but apart from that, holding the breath beforehand, and the visualization of the visualization sequence are not obvious. The second point is divided into two parts: a detailed analysis of the views of these schools, and a detailed explanation of the aspects of existence. The first point is: although the wind is first gathered into the central channel and made to dissolve, which requires certain key points of the body, by meditating on methods such as vajra recitation that focus on the key points of the body, the wind is sent into the central channel and made to dissolve, thereby producing the four emptinesses and joys, then what kind of visualization does an experienced person focus on, and when the mind is grasped, the wind gathers, and it seems that these experiences arise in various ways. This is actually the result of previous strength, and it is not necessarily the trace of the subsequent visualization. Therefore, if one is proficient in vajra recitation, and an experienced person maintains the aforementioned visualizations, if these experiences arise, then for that reason one cannot prove that this instruction is the meaning of those treatises. In the Five Stages and the Compendium of Practices, the three categories of appearances are said to be the three letters, sun and moon vajra, etc., which are the names given to the three appearances of the completion stage.

, therefore, in the stage of the generation phase, if one cannot generate the wisdom of the three appearances, then believing in and practicing these is the meaning. Therefore, it is not the purpose of the completion phase practitioners to generate these wisdoms by writing letters on the sun and moon and practicing, but it is good as the lama with clairvoyance thinks. Even if it is allowed to generate, it should be done in the heart, and doing it in the navel is not understanding the key point of this system. The so-called "arising from the wisdom of appearance and increase" means that the natures arise from these, but it does not mean that the wisdoms arise from practicing letters and so on. Even if the external environment appears in the form of these three colors by forcefully practicing the letters and the colors of the light white, red, and black, it is not the way the colors appear as described in the scriptures. In the Condensed Five Stages, although it is said that the three sets of letters are symbols of appearance, increase, and attainment respectively, it is not necessary to think that holding these letters will generate wisdom. It says in the same text: "In equality, restrain the mind, in the center of the samadhi wheel, the wisdom that sees equality, is close to attaining great emptiness." This means that for the letters written on the wheel, restrain the mind from wandering to other places, and be in equality as if the mind is absorbed in the letters. By being accustomed to samadhi, the mind is absorbed in the indestructible short A (Tibetan: ཨ་ཐུང་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: a, literal Chinese meaning: A) in the center of the wheel, and becomes one with it, thereby generating great emptiness, which is also inconsistent with the above view. Therefore, even if you gather the wheel, after you have obtained a clear and stable appearance of the letters, first focus on the outer wheel, then gather it into the middle wheel and focus on it, then gather it into the inner wheel and focus on it, then gather it into the indestructible place and get used to focusing on it. Again, arrange the letters as before, and if you get used to repeating this, you will quickly gather in the central channel (Tibetan: དྷཱུ་ཏཱི, Sanskrit Devanagari: धुती, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: dhūtī, literal Chinese meaning: central channel), but if you do not gather the wheel inside the central channel, but only get used to the outside, then the paths of emptiness will not show their characteristics, because these arise from gathering in the central channel and dissolving into it. In the Condensed Five Stages, apart from practicing letters and Vajra recitation, there is no mention of combining and holding the winds. In the Vajra Garland, it says: "The suchness of mantra alone accomplishes." It means do not do too much.
