Sapa said: Although the sense consciousnesses are not appearances, they are not necessarily self-nature. Secondly, if appearances are like this, then how do the eighty self-natures of conceptualization become the self-nature of appearances? And how do self-natures arise from appearances? Answer: The thirty-three self-natures of the first appearance, from the five stages: Its self-nature is bright and clear, Now I will explain it well. Detachment and the middle state, Likewise, there are also great natures, etc., Going and coming in the mind, Likewise, there are also three kinds of sorrow, Tranquility, discrimination, and fear, Fear, medium, and extreme fear, Desire, desire, and the middle state, Extreme desire and the taker, Non-virtue, hunger, and thirst, Feeling, and the middle state of feeling, The moment of extreme feeling, Knower and four knowers, Individual attention and knowing shame, Compassion and three loves, Doubt, accumulation, and self-nature, Jealousy is known as something to be done. All thirty-three self-natures, Embodied beings all self-realize. Thus it is said. Among them, detachment is the aspect of not desiring objects, and it has three types: large, medium, and small. In the mind, that is, the mind's going, refers to going to external objects, and coming refers to entering internal objects. These are all universally applicable. This is the view of the Ngor school. Sorrow is the mental suffering of separation from a disliked object, and there are also three types: large, medium, and small. Tranquility refers to the mind abiding in tranquility, which is explained in the 'Meaningful Clarification.' The former explains it as the leisure of the mind abiding. Discrimination is explained in the 'Meaningful Clarification' as being in a state of agitation, and the former explains it as the mind coarsely discriminating. Fear is when the mind is frightened upon encountering an unpleasant object; desire is attachment to an object, and these two also have three types each. Taking is the complete attachment to the objects of sensual pleasures. Non-virtue is explained in the 'Meaningful Clarification' as having doubts about virtuous actions, and the former explains it as one's own mind killing itself. This is also translated as ignorance. Hunger and thirst, the former believes, are wanting food and drink. Although 'Change' combines hunger and thirst into one, it is better to follow the former. Feeling is the three types of pleasure, pain, and equanimity, and it also has three types: large, medium, and small, depending on the object. Knower and know
