If one does not enter the door of the Unexcelled, then entering any of the doors of the Paramita Vehicle and the lower Tantra divisions will not obtain meaning. The rank that must be obtained through countless eons by other paths, the special quickness of accomplishing it in one lifetime through the path of the Unexcelled is that, by the coemergent great bliss, one ascertains the meaning of suchness and meditates. As it says in the Sambhuta Tantra: "Therefore, why elaborate? In brief, it is Buddhahood. In countless billions of eons, when will one obtain Buddhahood? By what supreme bliss will you obtain it in this life?" Thus it is said. Merely the cessation of the afflictive obscurations, some Hearers can also do in three lifetimes, and also realizing the meaning of suchness directly is common to both vehicles. Therefore, merely quickly realizing emptiness directly, thereby quickly liberating from samsara, is not the quickness here. Therefore, a very quick cessation of the cognitive obscurations is needed on this path. For that, if, like the Paramita Vehicle's system, one does not have the means to study the endless different divisions of the clarity of accumulations, then even if one realizes the view of emptiness purely and becomes accustomed to it, one cannot cease the cognitive obscurations, except for liberating from samsara. Therefore, the Mahayana practitioners study such endless accumulations for a long time in order to generate the realization of emptiness, making it the cause of ceasing the cognitive obscurations. In the Unexcelled path, although one does not study the endless different divisions of the clarity of accumulations like the Paramita Vehicle practitioners, it is said to be very quick if one meditates on the meaning of emptiness that is thoroughly decided by the coemergent bliss. Therefore, one can understand that realizing emptiness by the key point of the special object-possessor, great bliss, is extremely quick for purifying the cognitive obscurations of the habitual tendencies of dualistic illusion. Therefore, the great praises that are said to be superior to other paths for the empowerment and first stages of this path, along with the retinue, are also because they become a vessel suitable for the path of uniting bliss and emptiness, and because they become a ripening factor for complete arising, but not independently. The supreme quickness of accomplishing the path of uniting bliss and emptiness is that, on top of that, the clarity of the accumulation of merit

The attainment of the Buddha's body, which manifests in limitless different ways and can be thoroughly recognized, depends on being able to accomplish a unique cause. And this is none other than the illusory body. Therefore, unless one is skilled in both the completion stage of great bliss on the side of emptiness and the completion stage of the illusory body on the side of appearance, one cannot fully grasp the essential points of the two tantras. The Compendium Tantra states: "In the past, immeasurable and again immeasurable eons, equal to the number of dust particles in Buddha-fields, have passed. The reason why this great secret was not taught from the passing away of Buddha Dipamkara to the appearance of Buddha Kashyapa was that beings at that time did not have the fortune to hear the meaning of the great secret." Although that is the case, the reason why the Bodhi that Bodhisattvas strive and seek for countless eons like the sands of the Ganges, yet cannot attain, is said to be attainable in this very life by the Bodhisattva who delights in the Compendium, is explained in the Lamp Illuminating [the Tantras]: "Until that time, beings were particularly inclined towards inferiority and were tamed by means of generosity, discipline, and other non-attachment dharmas, and their minds were filled with fear of the profound teachings. Therefore, they did not have the fortune, and the meaning of the great secret was not taught at that time. Now, beings indulge in desire, the five degenerations are rampant, and [the Buddha] came knowing the inclinations of these beings, and only the Tathagata taught [this Dharma]." This is also said because it depends on whether or not one is inclined towards the external means of leading to great bliss. Because one is afraid of being granted Bodhi in this life through the union of bliss and emptiness by means of a method that completely severs emptiness and bliss, but not afraid of emptiness itself. The reason for fearing the behavior of those who are skilled in means and have attachment is that, although there is also the reason of small attachment, the main reason is that, due to the limitless qualities of the resultant Buddha, it is thought that only the clear distinctions of time and accumulation are suitable for it, and otherwise it is not suitable. And it is thought that even the great treasure troves of qualities that abide on the great earth take an extremely long time to attain, so that achieving it in each extremely short lifetime is only for the sake of guiding certain beings to be tamed.
