It is said, "The lotus is overturned, and in an instant it turns upward," so it seems necessary for the heart lotus to turn upward. The navel is not clear, and that tantra also praises the heart center, so it is the navel of the heart lotus, or so it is said. Some books say, "Do not abandon it for even a moment," meaning that the life force bound to it is stable. The union of the secret lotus is also the knot that joins the ro raṅ to the central channel. This shows that when the heart channel knot is released, the channel knots of the navel and secret place are also released. By opening with the wind in the middle of the eyebrows, it is shown that the channel knot of the wind wheel is released, so all other channel knots are also released by it. When the channel knot is released, the two life forces, upward and downward, are cut off from flowing into other channels, and it is made to abide in the flow of the single dhūti (Sanskrit transliteration, central channel). Thus, the great bliss free from conceptualization constantly arises, and it is said to be done by the vajra recitation of the suchness of mantra. Those explanations are like the Vajra Garland, which repeatedly says, "Accomplished solely by the suchness of mantra." The noble father and sons also did not explain other yogas of meditating directly on the wind, but explained the vajra recitation, so with certainty, they give the thought that there is no other way, and it is indispensable, so it is explained extensively. The third has two parts: how experience arises from meditating on the indestructible at the heart, and how experience arises from meditating on the remaining life force. The first is, as previously explained, that light arises from gathering the wind at the heart, and before entering the clear light, in the stages of dissolution such as earth dissolving into water, the five signs such as mirages arise, as explained in the Lamp Illuminating. This is not only at the time of entering the clear light of meaning, but also at all times when the wind is gathered in the dhūti (Sanskrit transliteration, central channel) and dissolves, and the four emptinesses arise. Therefore, it is said that the five signs arise from meditating on the indestructible at the heart. As the oral instruction says: "The mind abides in the bindu, the root consciousness grasps there, the earth wheel dissolves into, water, then it enters, water also enters fire, fire also enters wind, wind also enters mind, mind also enters non-dual wisdom, slightly entered, the sign abides, like a mirage and
