It is said that from the indestructible bindu located in the center of the lotus in the navel arises Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུཾ།,梵文天城體:हुं,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽), merges A (藏文:ཨ་,梵文天城體:अ,梵文羅馬擬音:a,漢語字面意思:阿), and abides in the nature of Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城體:आः,梵文羅馬擬音:āḥ,漢語字面意思:阿). Relying on the characteristics of the water mandala, etc., and colors such as white, etc., it arises gradually from the right nostril of the conventional, etc. By performing the Vajra recitation that spontaneously accomplishes peaceful and other activities, it purifies all the obscurations of past karma. The difficult explanation of the Five Stages, composed by Bhavyakīrti, states that in all four mandalas, the Vajra recitation of arising, merging, and abiding from the indestructible should be performed, which is good. The root verses state that the indestructible in the center is the essence of all bodies, first expanding the winds, etc., and finally gathering them, and then it is said to perform the Vajra recitation. Therefore, it is recited in the manner of arising from the indestructible. In the Four Meanings, it is said that the indestructible located in the center of the heart radiates five colors of light, the five root winds, and that the recitation combining their merging, arising, and abiding with the three letters should be performed, which is the meaning of the root verses. Although this is the ultimate key point for performing the Vajra recitation, for this system, due to not understanding the key point of the heart, these seem not to be understood as good explanations. Some other Marpa followers, focusing on the letters of the three layers of lotus petals from the outside in sequence, perform the Vajra recitation of the arising, merging, and abiding of the winds in those layers, considering this to be the meaning of "the nature of the three combinations," which is unreasonable. Because the meaning of "the samādhi of the directional order, the nature of the three combinations" refers to the three combinations of samādhi focusing on the directional order of the three layers, that is, showing the essence of the three yogas. Kukkuripa also said that the Vajra recitation of arising and merging is performed from within the union of bindus placed in the heart. The Oral Instructions state that the three vajras in the crown of the head, throat, heart, and between the two breasts, and the three syllables residing on the moon in the center of the wind, water, fire, and earth mandalas residing on the marks in sequence in the heart of the wisdom being visualized, and after visualizing one's own deity's seed syllable, the Vajra recitation is performed, but,

It is not done from the hearts of each individual, but from the indestructible. With this order, one makes the essence of the indestructible Vajra recitation. Thus it is said. Therefore, from the dissolving bindu, from the rays emanating from the four letters, the four winds arising from the nostrils are said to be Vajra recitation. There, the right wind is the body, the left water is speech, the fire of both is the Vajra of mind, and the earth of both is said to be the essence of all the deities. The four winds are considered to be the winds of the four winds, so it is said that way. It is not the Vajra recitation that does the three stages of rising, entering, and abiding. As it is said in both that and the oral instructions, the four letters placed in the heart of the deity are the three stages of wind entering, abiding, and rising, and are separate from those two. Those are the ones that are mentioned as being in accordance with this system. From other systems, it is also said that Vajra recitation is done in the navel. The second is the way to combine wind and mantra. In the "Lamp Illuminating," it is said that the white A, etc., which have the form of color and shape placed in the place of the body, are the wind entering, abiding, and rising. Since the meaning represented by the three letters is the three winds, it is said that way. Those are not meditated as the three winds, nor is it the time of Vajra recitation. At the time of Vajra recitation, in the tantras and the collections of Arya, it is not clearly stated whether the three letters are sound or form, and what the nature of the wind to be combined with that is, and what the sound of the wind is. Jowo (འགོས་) only works on the sound of the sound, not on the letter of the form, so the scholars who follow this also think the same. Many of the Marpa (མར་ལུགས་) people think that the wind channels are like threads, and the three letters are like beads tangled together. In the seventh chapter of the Root Tantra, it says, "Eating a beggar and not reciting." The meaning of this is explained in the "Lamp Illuminating," quoting the intention and the scriptural authority, "Different letters are a beggar. Uttering that is eating. Those want to eat a beggar." It is said that this explains the incompatible aspect of Vajra recitation, reciting wind and mantra separately. Based on that, one must know the non-separateness. The Sanskrit (梵文天城体:भिक्षा,梵文罗马拟音:bhikṣā,汉语字面意思:beggar) word for beggar is etymologically derived from Bhinna (梵文天城体:भिन्न,梵文罗马拟音:bhinna,汉语字面意思:different), which means different, and Akshara (梵文天城体:अक्षर,梵文罗马拟音:akṣara,汉语字面意思:letter) means letter, wind and letter separately.
