English
These are letters, not petal letters. The method of writing letters on the petals is: taking the eastern petal as an example, the outside of the eastern petal is like a wheel. That is, at the outermost end there is ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, literal Chinese meaning: A), and in front of it is the long vowel ཨཱ་ (Tibetan: ཨཱ, Devanagari: आ, Romanized Sanskrit: ā, literal Chinese meaning: A). Use this method to understand the arrangement of other vowel letters. On other petals, letters from other groups such as the ཀ་ (Tibetan: ཀ, Devanagari: क, Romanized Sanskrit: ka, literal Chinese meaning: Ga) group are also arranged in order from outside to inside. That is, the letters should be written in an upright posture, facing the central letter. The petal letters do not mention the moon seat, so it is not necessary. The letters are not purely vowels or consonants, but a mixture of vowels and consonants. The half-moon, dot, and nāda of the vowels are all consonants. That is, in terms of the central letters, the central ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, literal Chinese meaning: A) has more vowel components and fewer consonant components. Except for the eastern petal, the petals in other directions do not have vowel letters, so the petals have fewer vowel letter components and more consonant letter components. The ཧཱུྃ་ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Hum) letter in the center of the heart's knot is also mostly consonant. The ཨོཾ་ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ओं, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Om) in the center of the throat's pulse petal has more vowel components, and the letters of these two petals have equal vowel and consonant components. The letter ཧཾ་ (Tibetan: ཧཾ, Devanagari: हं, Romanized Sanskrit: haṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Ham) in the center of the crown chakra's pulse petal has more consonant components, and the letters of its petals have more vowel components. That is, vowels represent white bodhicitta, and consonants represent red bodhicitta. It is best to clearly visualize the petal letters and focus on them. Even if you can't, if you can focus on the four very tiny letters in the center of the four chakras, about the size of a medium mustard seed, and find some sense of location, that is enough, so you must strive to find it. It is said that when the appearance of the letters is clear, you can shift the focus. If you can do this, you must shift the focus to the bindu, because visualizing subtle letters is to find the basis for focusing on the bindu. When focusing on the bindu, you should do this: first, clearly visualize the previous objects of focus in order, then, from the tri-junction, the karma wind is activated, and a flame is ignited from the ཨཾ་ (Tibetan: ཨཾ, Devanagari: अं, Romanized Sanskrit: aṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Ang) letter in the navel chakra, rising along the central channel to the crown chakra, melting the letters of the crown chakra's pulse petals, and entering the center of the chakra.
