Thus it is said. The reasoning here should also be understood through the logic previously explained. Here, great bliss is the lifeblood of the path, and its stability depends on the bliss of the lower stability. Therefore, the way to generate it is very important. As it says in the "Ear of Whispered Instructions": "Its arising place starts from the jewel and goes as far as the navel. As long as it doesn't move, the bodhicitta increases, therefore it goes closer to the top." According to the literal meaning of this passage, if it doesn't move away from the jewel, it seems like it would be like masturbation. But in the beginning, it is not masturbation, so it is necessary to pull it up to the crown of the head, which the yogi should greatly value. As it says in the Vajra Garland Tantra: "Having first done the nature of wind, that nature moves upwards, the yogi should practice. From that, the emanation wheel arises, and is understood as joy." Therefore, from the tip of the jewel to the emanation wheel is joy, from there to the dharma wheel is supreme joy, from there to the enjoyment wheel is special joy, and from there to the great bliss wheel is innate joy. These four joys are in the "Ear of Whispered Instructions": In order, they are innate, small, medium, large, and great of the great. Then, after experiencing the descending innate joy, the way the yogi practices the four lower stabilizations is: at the end of meditating on the union of bliss and emptiness, begin to raise the wind. With focus, gather the bodhicitta and gradually guide it from the nadi, holding it in the nadi of the emanation wheel. Then, imagine guiding it into the nadi of the dharma wheel and meditate for a long time. Then, guide it in sequence to the enjoyment wheel and the great bliss wheel, and in the center of great bliss, in the nadi, combine the first innate joy with emptiness and meditate for a long time. When beginning to raise the wind, with focus, guide the bodhicitta from the nadi back to the previous four wheels, and at the tip of the jewel, combine innate joy with emptiness and meditate. In the beginning, if you cannot practice like this and the wind rises, then again at the tip of the jewel, meditate on the subtle as before, and generate the four joys of ascending and descending stability. To generate the four joys, the bodhicitta must descend. That
