La. So, the clear light that spontaneously arises from the four emptinesses at the time of death is the clear light of the mother. The clear light meditated on when waking up and during sleep is the clear light of the son. The merging of these two at the time of the clear light of death is called the merging of the mother and son clear lights. Second, merging with the sambhogakaya at the time of the path has three aspects: merging the illusory body of the waking state with the sambhogakaya, merging the illusory body of dreams that appears during sleep with the sambhogakaya, and merging the illusory body of the bardo reality or the bardo vajra-like sambhogakaya at the end of the clear light of death. The first is: after the samadhi of clear light arises through any of the doors mentioned earlier, exert effort to keep the samadhi in the clear light for as long as possible. When the power of the previous dissolution of the winds causes the samadhi to arise from it, then, thinking that one should arise as the form of the primordial protectors, the father and mother, then, like a fish leaping from clear water, suddenly arise from the state of clear light into that form, and keep the mind focused on that illusory body for as long as possible. The second is, when dreams appear during sleep, merging the illusory body of dreams with the sambhogakaya: as mentioned earlier, when the clear light of sleep appears, exert effort to remain in it for as long as possible. When the power of the previous dissolution of the winds causes the samadhi to arise from it, then, without letting ordinary dreams disappear, thinking that one should arise as the form of the primordial protectors, the father and mother, then, like a fish leaping from clear water, suddenly arise from the state of clear light into that form, and keep the mind focused on that illusory body for as long as it lasts. The third is, at the end of the clear light of death, merging the illusory body of the bardo reality or the bardo vajra-like sambhogakaya with the sambhogakaya: as mentioned earlier, after the mother and son clear lights have merged at the time of death, exert effort to remain in the clear light for as long as possible. When the power of the previous dissolution of the winds causes the samadhi to arise from it, then, without arising as an ordinary bardo body, thinking that one should arise as the form of the primordial protectors, the father and mother, then, like a fish leaping from clear water, from the clear light

Within that, one arises suddenly in that body. Holding onto that illusory body, one remains equally for as long as it stays. There are two aspects to this: not only meditating on the illusory Sambhogakaya, but when achieving the bardo for others, if one generates the illusory body as previously described from the essence of one's own body, then one achieves excellence in the bardo. If one is unable to do so, even if one takes a bardo body of self-enjoyment, if the ordinary appearance of the bardo body does not arise for a moment in the mind, but the Sambhogakaya of the faithful protectors, father and mother, appears in harmony, there is also a great difference. Third, combining with the Nirmanakaya at the time of the path has three aspects. The first is combining with the Nirmanakaya at the time of the path when waking up: As previously explained, from the clarity of light at the time of waking up, separating the illusory body from the body of karmic maturation, after meditating on the samadhi of illusion, entering into this aggregate of karmic maturation, the aggregate of karmic maturation does not move, and one abides in the clear heart in the form of a wisdom being. This is because the Sambhogakaya of the result has not become the object of impure sentient beings' eyes. Through this power, like a great magic trick, one takes birth in the womb with a coarse body, and just as impure sentient beings also see that Nirmanakaya, the illusory Sambhogakaya of the path time, which is not seen by the physical eyes of other sentient beings, enters into that coarse body. The coarse body, which appears unmoving and is held by it, becomes the object of the physical eye, and is nominally called the Nirmanakaya. Furthermore, when that illusory Sambhogakaya transforms the coarse body so that it is seen by the physical eyes of other sentient beings, it is nominally called the Nirmanakaya. The second is the way to combine the dream Nirmanakaya when dreams appear during sleep: As previously explained, rising from the clarity of sleep into the Sambhogakaya, after meditating on the samadhi of illusion, entering into the previous body of karmic maturation, abiding in the heart in the form of a wisdom being, and that Sambhogakaya transforming into a coarse Nirmanakaya, the meaning of combining with the Nirmanakaya is as previously explained. The third is the way to combine with the Nirmanakaya at the end of the clarity of death: the clarity of death previously meditated upon.
