Among the five fives, it is the winds that circulate. That knot is called the knot of ignorance. In short, the main cause of generating samsara, namely the clinging to self of person and self of phenomena, is what both mantra and the Perfection Vehicle need to commonly understand. And the main contributing factor to generating samsara, namely the wind that agitates the eighty types of self-nature's conceptualizations, is what needs to be understood here. The self-nature place of wind-mind is the heart itself, where it first enters and finally gathers. However, due to being bound by the knot of the channels, it does not reach its self-nature place, but passes through the gates of Rakshasa and others, generating various self-nature's conceptualizations, and thus wanders in samsara. As previously mentioned, by becoming accustomed to the Vajra Recitation, the heart's channel knot, which is difficult to separate, is split open, and all the winds dissolve into their self-nature place, and the winds that agitate self-nature also gradually subside, and the four emptinesses, the unfabricated nature of the conventional mind, gradually become manifest. Therefore, by relying on the Vajra Recitation, the order of generating the mind's solitude is perfectly accomplished. Therefore, if one understands the Vajra Recitation as described above, there is no need to practice vase breathing and so on. As it says in the Vajra Garland: 'No need for garland, no need for practice, no need for action, no need for negation, with the one suchness of mantra, one attains perfect complete enlightenment.' Similarly, the distinctions of the four mudras, and distinguishing the four joys by the distinctions of the four chakras, etc., are also not needed here. The state of Mahamudra is revealed, attained by the one suchness of mantra.' The suchness of mantra is the Vajra Recitation. To practice mantra without understanding it is like a person who wants to cross the ocean without asking for directions, and like not producing butter from churning water. The way to meditate on the mantra wheel in the heart, the former lamas thought so. And the Marpa lineage holders, regarding the clear understanding of the essence of the five stages condensed, think like this: 'Letters from ka to ha, plus the four discarded tsa.' Therefore, among the thirty-three consonants excluding tsa, there are five nasal letters, namely nga, nya, na, ṇa, ma. Among them, ma is the bindu of twelve letters.

. Thus, assigning the share of the twelve vowels to the thirty-two consonants, placing these thirty-two consonants in each of the eight petals of the heart's eight-petaled nadi-chakra, placing four in each petal. The northeast petal is called the four hidden letters mentioned earlier. Discarding the guttural letters, the remaining four nasal letters are placed here, and the rest are placed as before. When performing vajra recitation, even if one passes through the center of the indestructible bindu of the heart, and goes in and out from the place of downward elimination, there is not much fault. However, the breath of the four protectors should arise and be gathered from the indestructible bindu itself. Do not blow the bindu with a very rough wind, but rather gently draw it in with a gentle wind, visualizing it as water seeping into sand, dissolving into the indestructible bindu. When it comes out, visualize it coming out slowly, so that there are fewer obstacles. The duration of both coming in and going out should be equal, and slightly longer than that, focus the mind on the bindu itself. The posture of the body should be neither too tense nor too relaxed, but moderate. If the breath is too strong, then during the session breaks, focus the mind on the central bindu itself. Those with less breath should focus their minds on the letters of the nadi petals in sequence during the session breaks. For example, first focus on the outer A, then focus on I, and so on. Among all the nadichakras, relying on the heart chakra and its central indestructible bindu becomes the main way to perform vajra recitation, as explained in the twenty-first chapter of the Vajra Garland. That is, understand through explaining the meaning of the three vajra letters, and asking and determining in detail which of the three is the main way. The first point is: Om (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) is the vajra of the body, the essence of the cause is truly proclaimed. The letter A is, the letter O is, the letter Ma is, these three. A resides in the Dharma wheel lotus, pervading the wind wheel. In this very place alone, all great winds are called life. O resides in the enjoyment wheel, like fire and the sun, located at the end of the throat, pervading the end of the crown, is the body of splendor. The letter Ma is a bindu.
