Lakshmi said that the sequence of the earth mudra is also the sequence of the great mudra in the order of the five signs. According to Je Gö, determining luminosity through external examples such as daytime is external manifestation, and determining it through internal signs is considered internal manifestation. Here, in the Compendium of Practices, it says: "Therefore, first the external should be shown. The boundary of dawn is from the appearance of the darkness of ignorance until the sun appears. There, luminosity appears as a clear and stainless form, and everything separated from body, speech, and mind is of the nature of emptiness. When the sun rises, appearance increases. The boundary when the sun sets is ignorance. When the moon rises, appearance. Thus, after explaining the definite manifestation of the four aspects of emptiness externally, now the internal manifestation of enlightenment should be shown in this order of characteristics that each individual should understand for themselves. Therefore, the order is as follows: First, like a mirage, one sees a collection of five rays of light. Second, appearance, like the rays of the moon. Third, increasing appearance, like the rays of the sun. Fourth, obtaining appearance, like darkness. Then, in the instant of separation from darkness, luminosity, which is very clear and always appearing, is seen with the eye of wisdom as the self-nature of the ultimate truth." Thus, the difference between external and internal manifestation is explained. In the sequence of manifestation of enlightenment, the unclear internal manifestation is made clear. These scriptures do not show that these wisdoms arise at the four times of dawn, etc., because neither the forward nor reverse order agrees with the order of arising. Nor is it that one divides the external day into four parts and then shows these four as the four emptinesses, because it is not appropriate to say that the time of dawn is separated from body, speech, and mind, and because the characteristics of what the supreme guru said is the realm of the yogi, the instant of enlightenment, are not complete at the time of dawn. So, if it is said that the four, dawn, etc., are examples of the four emptinesses, but the two treatises do not allow it, then how is it said that the four emptinesses are four times? This is the way of using the four emptinesses as external examples.

to ascertain, and to ascertain through the signs of the way of appearing in the samadhi of the inner yogi. Since it is said that outer and inner Abhisambodhi, therefore, the meaning of what is to be ascertained, luminosity, is not of two kinds, inner and outer, nor is it the four emptinesses at the time of empowerment, because after relying on the third empowerment to generate the four joys, one prays in order to show luminosity, and because it is to show its instructions, and because giving the third empowerment is the preliminary to explaining this instruction. Therefore, it is not appropriate to explain the four emptinesses of outer Abhisambodhi as the wisdom born from relying on the third empowerment. The analogy of the four outer times and the four emptinesses
