Even if the subtle connection between the support and the supported is severed, it is not contradictory for the mind to rely on the resultant body of that yogi. By what means is it absorbed? The outer condition is the mudra, and the inner conditions are the vajra recitation and the practice of mental isolation. These methods have already been explained in those sections. The method explained here will be elucidated. To accomplish Suchness, the meaning of the absorption of the senses such as the eyes is said to be the cessation of their activity of engaging with their respective objects. In the sequential presentation, it is also said that when those are absorbed, they do not engage with their respective objects. Therefore, the meaning of the absorption of earth into water, etc., should also be understood as explained before. Here, the former ones explain the sequence of the sign and the signified in accordance with the Compendium of Practices, through the manner of the absorption of the three vajra beings of body, speech, and mind. Although it is thought that it and the Lamp That Illuminates are inconsistent, I do not see any inconsistency. Showing the distinction of that very clear light, which is ascertained through the sequence of outer and inner examples and signs, is: The four statements beginning with "Finally arising" state both arising and non-arising in the three times of beginning, middle, and end. The three times of beginning, middle, and end are the three appearances, and because those three are pure, they do not arise, and Lakshmi says that the pervasive reality arises. In the Hevajra it is said, "Either completely abandon everything, or everything abides in its own nature." The meaning is the same as what was said, so it is good. "Not arising in the center" means not arising in the center. "Arising without end, not arising at the end" is the meaning, the new translation is so blissful. After that, the first two of the four statements "Where to go and" are going and coming, rising and entering. The word "and" indicates abiding, and showing that it is not there distinguishes it from vajra recitation. Similarly, the second statement says that the nature is exhausted and the wisdom of mental isolation does not increase, so it is different from mental isolation. The third statement says that all phenomena are conventional truth and the unreal is illusion, and blocking those two distinguishes it from the illusory body. The absorption of the nature together with imprints is wonderful, and because it is the nature of peace, it is not wonderful. Abiding is birth, and quick going is destruction, Lakshmi says that those are not there. However, all the elaborations of the five pairs should be understood as emptiness. After that, what exists?

Because the four, such as "now," lack self-nature, they are separate from existence. Luminosity is the self-nature of Dharmata, so it is separate from non-existence. Because there is no universally pure object in luminosity, it is not the form of merit and demerit, and because it does not exist in both, it is said not to be the master of merit and demerit. The first two explain that they are separate from the elaboration of existence and non-existence, the next two explain that they do not exist in the nature of the fruits of the two karmas, and the next two explain that they are not the subject of the two karmas, therefore, samsara is not defiled by all causes and effects. The second is: The yogi who has attained suchness. The three verses and so on show the praise of the yogi who has attained luminosity. The third is: It is said that the oral instruction has been obtained. In the Practice Collection, it is said: After manifesting all as emptiness in this way, one should focus on the two kinds of samadhi in this order. The meaning of the first sentence is that in the post-attainment of obtaining the oral instruction, it is called the manifestation of all emptiness. The two yogas practiced by the disciples are the means to manifest luminosity, namely the two samadhis. Therefore, it is not said here that luminosity is manifested by bestowing the third empowerment. Perfect holding is shown by the four, such as "head," that is, in the center of the eight-petaled lotus wheel in the navel, the light emitted from the first vowel residing there burns the body from the feet to the head, and then returns again, making it disappear into the heart. Lakshmi explains this. From the head to the feet, it shows the upper and lower edges of the body to be collected. As for "until reaching the heart," it means entering the true edge by collecting from the head to the heart and from the feet to the heart, which is in accordance with the order of death described on the basis of the earth. The two, perfection and subsequent destruction, are in terms of time, so they collect both self and other through simultaneous and gradual means. Subsequent destruction is the four, such as "non-flowing," that is, first collecting the outer environment and inner sentient beings into luminosity, and then oneself also merges into luminosity. Then, how should it be explained that the Practice Collection says that it gradually perishes in sequence, just like a drop of water merging into the center of a river?
