Because of breaking, it is explained that the space there expands, but in reality, it is not seen. If the initial karma is what motivates in that way, then how does the karma of cultivation motivate? Actions such as wind cultivation like Vajra recitation also cause the wind to enter the Avadhuti (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), causing the space of that channel to expand. From that, the wind that awakens the fire arises, and it causes the fire to burn, and it also causes the elements to dissolve. Regarding this, other treatises say that relying on the burning of fierce fire to dissolve the elements, thereby generating the sequence of the four joys, thereby well recognizing the co-emergent, and merely explain walking the path by maintaining that continuity. And in the treatises of the Holy Father and Son (Asanga and Vasubandhu), it is mainly explained that relying on the burning of fierce fire, through the power of the dissolving Bodhicitta, the earth dissolving into water and so on, through the stages of dissolution, thereby generating the three wisdoms of emptiness, and entering into clear light. Therefore, the way of teaching is slightly different. This reason is very important, so it should be well understood. Third, in the Vajramala Tantra it says: "Here, the reason will be explained. The yogi who has accomplished the mantra, trembling and sweating and having goosebumps, always having a joyful thought, the face is copper-colored and pleasing, everyone likes to see, cold and heat, etc., worldly dharmas and others as well, the very nature of the yogi's mantra, will not become harmful." The reason for the previously mentioned "self-luminous great bliss" is that these signs are to be explained here. Accomplishing the mantra means that Vajra recitation has reached its culmination. The face refers to the appearance. Copper-colored means burning like copper. Cold and heat, etc., and the eight worldly dharmas, and in addition to that, the causes of following attachment and anger, will also not harm the cultivation of that very nature of the mantra. This is also extensively explained in the Compendium of Conduct. Second, in the ninety-nine winds, clarifying the very time of the self-nature within the four combinations of the winds of the four goddesses, is what is said in the Later Part of the Compendium Tantra. How is it? Because the two, awareness and consort, are explained in many categories, therefore awareness, that is, the ritual of the wisdom goddess, that is, this combination of winds, can

From the four mandalas such as fire, one should perfectly combine. In the state where the limb of mantra, namely vajra recitation, is not diminished, one should recite the mantra. The method of recitation is to symbolize the three winds with the number of three syllables, and recite after recognizing its essence. Lakshmi says: By what does one come to know the four emptinesses? It is knowing the white cloth, etc. Where are these combined? It is its ritual, namely the four mandalas. With the order of entering, etc., of these, one should recite the three syllables of the mantra. Similarly, the four junctures are only the four mandalas. The combination of these is the order of the appearance of rays of light with the distinction of the right nostril, etc., it is there. Or, the four junctures are the order of the times within the day and night. How should one recite? By the symbolized, the symbolizer, numbers, etc. That is, what is to be symbolized is the rays of light such as red. What symbolizes is entering, etc. The number is two hundred and twenty-five, etc. Thus it is explained. This verse does not appear in the later tantra that is currently translated, and Naropa has not explained it in its commentary either, but it is clearly cut off in the tantra. The third is, the yogi who meditates on vajra recitation should abandon the vajra recitation that has obstacles, namely the external speech and mind recitation that have become obstacles. The meaning of mantra, Lakshmi says: The recitation of mantra is for the purpose of manifesting Vajradhara, and if that yogi himself becomes the nature of Vajradhara, then how does the yogi of the nature of vajra recitation recite? That is, it is not to be recited. If one abandons it with the generation stage, then the samaya will be broken. Its example is, if a person searching for a lost elephant finds the elephant, he does not search for its footprints. Similarly, that one whose body of mantra has become the great Vajradhara does not search for other speech recitations, etc. Thus it is explained. Understanding in this way, the meaning of mantra is the suchness of mantra, that is, the Bhagavan Vajradhara, namely the body, speech, and mind of Vajradhara, the nature of vajra, is recited as the essence of the three syllables and three winds. Having found that, how is it reasonable to recite external mantras? It is not reasonable. Its example is, the elephant
