From the expansion of the emptiness of the channel center, a new breath will arise within it. This is stimulated by the breath that awakens the fire, and the action of the two roots, the rest is easy to understand. The commentary says: The breaking of the stick of the A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) in the center of the yogini's navel chakra explains the expansion of its emptiness. In reality, it is unseen. If the initial action is stimulated in this way, then how is it stimulated by the action of meditation? Through actions such as wind meditation, including Vajra recitation, wind enters the Avadhuti (Tibetan: ཨ་བ་དྷཱུ་ཏཱི, Sanskrit Devanagari: अवधूती, Sanskrit Romanization: avadhuti, Chinese literal meaning: Avadhuti), which expands the emptiness of that channel. From there, the breath that awakens the fire arises, which ignites the fire, which in turn melts the elements. On this point, other texts merely explain the sequence of generating the four joys based on the melting of the elements by the burning of Tummo (Tibetan: གཏུམ་མོ, Sanskrit Devanagari: चण्डाली, Sanskrit Romanization: caṇḍālī, Chinese literal meaning: Tummo), thereby perfectly recognizing innate wisdom, and merely traversing the path by maintaining its continuity. However, the texts of the Holy Father and Sons (referring to Asanga and Vasubandhu) mainly explain the sequence of dissolution, such as earth dissolving into water, through the power of the melting of Bodhicitta due to the burning of Tummo, thereby generating the wisdom of the three emptinesses, and entering into clear light. Therefore, the way of presenting is slightly different. This reason is very important and should be well understood. The third is, in the Vajramala Tantra it says: Here, the reason will be explained. For a yogi who has accomplished mantras, there will be trembling, sweating, hair standing on end, always a feeling of joy, a face with a coppery complexion, pleasing, everyone will be happy to see, cold, excessive heat, etc., and the eight worldly dharmas and other things, the very nature of the yogi's mantra, will not turn into harm. The reason for the previously stated "self-aware great bliss" is that these signs will be explained here. A mantra achiever is one who has perfected Vajra recitation. Face refers to countenance. Coppery complexion refers to burning like copper. Cold, excessive heat, etc., and the eight worldly dharmas, and other causes of attachment and anger, will not harm the meditation on the very nature of the mantra. This is also explained in more detail in the Compendium of Practices. The second is, the combination of the breath of nine times a hundred, and the breath of the four goddesses.

To clarify the very time of self-nature within the practice, it is said in the latter part of the Compendium Tantra. How so? Since the two, Rigpa and Rigma, are explained in many different ways, through Rigpa, that is, the ritual of the Wisdom Goddess, that is, the combination of winds, one should thoroughly combine them into the four mandalas of fire and so on. Here, the mantra, that is, in the state where the limbs of Vajra recitation are not diminished, one should recite the mantra. The method of recitation is to represent the three winds by the number of three syllables, that is, to recite having understood their essence. Lakṣmī says, "By which four emptinesses does one become aware? It is Rigpa, that is, white clothes and so on. Where are these combined? It is in their ritual, that is, the four mandalas. By the order of their entry and so on, one should recite the three-syllable mantra. Likewise, the four junctures are only the four mandalas. Their combination is the order of the emergence of rays of light with the distinction of the right nostril and so on. Alternatively, the four junctures are the order of times within the day and night. How should one recite? By the signifier, the signified, and the numbers." That which is to be signified is the rays of light, such as the color red. That which signifies is the entry and so on. The numbers are two hundred and twenty-five and so on. Thus it is explained. This verse is not found in the currently translated subsequent tantra, and Nāropā did not explain it in his commentary either, but it is clear that it is missing from the tantra. Thirdly, the yogi who meditates on Vajra recitation should abandon the interrupted Vajra recitation, that is, the external speech and mental recitation that has become an interruption. Regarding the meaning of mantra, Lakṣmī says, "The recitation of mantra is for the sake of manifesting the Vajra Holder. If that yogi himself has become the nature of the Vajra Holder, then how should the yogi of the nature of Vajra recitation recite? That is, it is not to be recited. If one abandons it through the generation stage, then the samaya will be broken." The example of this is that the one who searches for a lost elephant does not search for its footprints once he has found the elephant. Likewise, one whose body of mantra has become the Great Vajra Holder should not seek other recitations of speech and so on. Thus it is explained. Understanding this, the meaning of mantra is the mantra of
