Source: The illusion-like samadhi. People who are completely ignorant have accumulated deep habits of afflictions from beginningless time. Then, due to the karma of previous actions, correct birth and death occur. Thus it is said. After such a body is accomplished, they gradually, as explained in the eighth chapter, abandon the mind-made body with the qualities previously mentioned, through the disappearance of their own light, etc., and are gradually completely seized by the stream of afflictions, taking on the coarse body of an ordinary human being with male and female characteristics. Secondly, in this way, after the first kalpa's people have become ordinary bodies, from the perspective of male and female, one should contemplate the deities of increasing pride in male and female form, in accordance with the order of existence of the essence that has accomplished the aspect of skillful means and wisdom. Here, the reason why the deities of increasing pride are made to be in accordance with the first kalpa's people in terms of Dharma is that, just as the essence is formed after the vessel is formed in the arising of existence, in the generation stage, after the vessel of the palace as the basis is formed, the essence that is first formed is the deity of increasing pride; and it is necessary to contemplate that it is in accordance with the essence of the people of Jambudvipa. So, why is it that at this time, the contemplation of increasing pride and the conduct of the same Dharma nature are not performed? Because after the basis is generated, when the basis is first generated, the wheel of all the deities, such as not generating there, should be satisfied with increasing pride. Thus it is said. The place is where the practitioner goes, and the three vajras should be generated and contemplated. As it has already been said, relying on the favorable conditions for generating the deity has also been said before, and considering that it is easy to understand, the combined practice of increasing pride is not mentioned. Therefore, in the twelfth spike of the 'Mouth Instructions Ear of Grain,' it is unreasonable to combine increasing pride and the intermediate state as being the same in Dharma nature, because combining the intermediate state and the first protector as being the same in Dharma nature contradicts what is said below. Therefore, the birth of the deities of increasing pride is also in accordance with the miraculously born people of the first kalpa, and not in accordance with the way of arising of the intermediate state. Here, the actions of increasing pride and the subtle Dharma nature of combining the same Dharma nature, such as the absorption of increasing pride into the body, are not necessary.

It is sufficient to roughly conform to reason, as said in other instances. Second, there are two parts: explaining the concordant aspects, and how to meditate in accordance with them. First, there are two parts: the transference of death, and how the bardo is formed after death. The first is: As previously shown, the mind of the first kalpa's human beings, which is called the basis of the mind-vajra, because they did not fully understand the appearance of their own nature, which is the nature of riding on the wind, they transfer from the realm of sentient beings to other worlds. The reason for not understanding the nature of the mind is separation from the virtuous friend who shows the path without error. In the Compendium of Conduct, it also says: Thus, these are the misdeeds of body, speech, and mind, because they do not understand the appearance of their own nature, which is the nature of riding on the wind, and they assume that this is my body, my speech, and my mind, and thus they are arrogant and attached, thereby creating virtuous and non-virtuous actions, and ultimately indulging in the happy and unhappy realms. Therefore, because they do not understand the selflessness of the mind, and they cling to self and what belongs to self, under the influence of afflictions, they accumulate karma and wander in samsara. This is considered the order of entering samsara according to both the Mantrayana and the characteristic-yana. Therefore, the view of selflessness, which cuts off the root of wandering in samsara, the clinging to self, is the same for both paths, so for the Mantrayana path, the essence of the teachings, the wisdom that establishes the selflessness of reality, should be cherished as the essential meaning, inseparable from it. Second, there are two parts: the time spent in the bardo, and the characteristics of the bardo. The first is: If you want to know how long one stays in the bardo after death, as it is said in the sutras, as long as the collection of causes and conditions for being born in the next life has not been found, one will remain in the intermediate state. This is a definitive statement, so it is the same for all bardos. If you want to know how long that time is, then saying seven days refers to the lifespan of one bardo, but in general, if the causes and conditions for birth have not been gathered, then after that bardo dies, it will stay in the bardo for seven times seven days, until then the collection for birth will be found. In the Sutra of the Origin of Discipline, it also says: Until the collection is not found, for seven days it remains in the state of the bardo. Existence.
