The two embracing show the difference of the tantras. Likewise, it can be known through holding hands, playing, and looking. Also, in the sixth examination of the glorious Sambhuta, it says: Playing, looking, and holding hands, as well as two by two embracing, there are four forms, residing in the four tantras in the manner of worms. Therefore, the four classes of desire, such as playing, are used as the path, and the four tantras are taught. Moreover, these desires are mentioned in the Treasury of Knowledge: Two by two embracing, holding hands, playing, and looking are sexual intercourse. Therefore, although some explain that the main object to be tamed by any of the four tantras is the desire realm beings, here, leaving the other three aside for a moment, the object to be tamed by the Great Yoga Tantra is explained. This is not necessarily just having faith in that path and practicing it, but rather, what is the main object to be tamed for whom that tantra was spoken? That is the desire realm being who can use desire as the path through the attachment of the union of the two faculties. As the tantra "Collected from All, the Glorious Wisdom Vajra" says: Without the vajra and lotus being manifestly joined together in advance by mantra and mudra, the three consciousnesses cannot be closely represented. If the bhaga and linga cannot be properly joined, then the samadhi of great bliss cannot be found. And: Whoever closely represents the natural luminosity with the bliss of the vajra and lotus being equally joined, will abide in the state of great bliss. Also, when teaching the root tantra of the Guhyasamaja, the teacher, having entered into samadhi called the aspect of great desire, taught it. Regarding the meaning of this, the Sutra Collection says: Just as the Bhagavan, in order to thoroughly show that the state of enlightenment arises from desire, entered into samadhi called the aspect of great desire in the first chapter, likewise, abiding in the arising stage, first one should engage in union, in order to thoroughly show the liberation of beings who are tamed by desire through desire. Also, the Lamp Illuminating the Teachings says: Now, in order to thoroughly show the liberation of beings who abide in the desire realm and are attached to objects, through the gate of the five desirable qualities.

Thus. As for the answer to the question, "For what purpose is this done?" it is: "For the sake of beings with desire." Because it is said so. The union of the two faculties is only present in the two lower realms, the two lower desire realms, and humans; it is not present elsewhere. The lower realms cannot serve as a pure basis for the path of mantra, and the desire realms also lack the basis of great bliss—coemergent bodhicitta—therefore, one cannot rely on them to attain the samadhi of the four joys, etc. Therefore, they cannot be the main objects of taming in the unsurpassable tantras. Where the union of the two faculties exists and whether or not coemergent bodhicitta exists is as follows: In the Ground of Being Sutra, it says: "Animals and hungry ghosts, as well as humans, have a mixture of bodily pleasure and pain, therefore they have the act of intercourse. Men and women engage in mutual intercourse, and semen is produced." "The gods who enjoy desire also have the act of intercourse, but no semen is produced, because when they are produced, a temporary wind arises from the penis." It is said, and Master Vasubandhu also said the same. Again, from the same source: "Their bodies are clean inside and out, and there is no foul odor. They do not have these impure substances, such as dust, dirt, bones, tendons, veins, kidneys, and hearts, etc." Because it is said that they do not have veins and internal organs, the desire gods also do not have the chakra of the veins, which is the basis of coemergence. The nectar and other foods they eat are immediately absorbed into all parts of the body and digested, without turning into excrement or urine, as stated in the Ground of Being Sutra. The other human continents are also not very sharp in their faculties, as previously explained, and the attainment of Buddhahood in one lifetime, as taught in mantra, requires someone with extremely sharp faculties, so a person from Jambudvipa (Earth) is needed. This is also stated in the Lamp Illuminating the Teachings: "Utpala, white lotus, red lotus, and sandalwood, these four types of people are the individuals spoken of for the assembly. Possessing the fortune of the completion stage, constantly practicing and adorned, this is the precious individual, the vessel spoken of for the disciple." As it is said, the feast
