Like rays spreading, focusing on all things in the nature of extreme clarity and purity, the mind of enlightenment, is the second Samantabhadra. The second stage, characterized by extreme emptiness, is called "Āḥ" (Tibetan, Devanagari आः, Romanized Sanskrit āḥ, meaning speech door), which is the seed syllable based on the door of speech, the cause for stabilization, so it is said. Third, obtaining appearance: What is obtaining appearance? Likewise, the characteristic of space, the form of non-existence, without body and speech. Like the appearance of darkness descending at the boundary, pervading subtly and without self, life and effort do not move, therefore there is no movement, that is, without mind and without movement. Being completely accomplished through the door based on the seed syllable of speech, this is called obtaining appearance, the characteristic of ignorance, the great emptiness. Thus it is said. The meaning of these is from the Wisdom Vajra Collected from All: "Consciousness rides on the wind, until the eighty natures of conceptual thought move." Also, in the Later Tantra, the explanations of the signs of the elements dissolving, even during the time of mental isolation, similar kinds of appearances occur as when entering clear light. That also depends on the previous outer and inner conditions, meditating on emptiness, earth dissolves into water, that into fire, that into wind. Wind dissolves into consciousness, therefore the conceptual thoughts of mental isolation arise. The thirty-three conceptual thoughts arising from desire and hatred, by the power of the moving wind ceasing, those conceptual thoughts cease, therefore the wisdom of appearance arises, which is like the moonlight appearing in the stainless sky on an autumn night, it is the realization of emptiness. At that time, the yogi's body has no movement and speech has no expression, therefore it is called without body and speech. However, it does not merely refer to the existence of body and speech, nor does it merely refer to the absence of consciousness there. At that time, the winds of the left and right have not ceased moving, therefore it is said that "Oṃ" (Tibetan, Devanagari ओ, Romanized Sanskrit oṃ, meaning speech door) is based on the door of speech. The door refers to letters, seed syllables, and wind. What is meant by focusing on all things is the realization of the nature of all those things, without limits, not focusing on the object of the law. During the time of increase, the meaning of the scriptural words should also be understood based on this. The forty conceptual thoughts arising from desire, by the power of the cause of movement ceasing, those conceptual thoughts cease.

Then, the wisdom of increase arises. That is also the same as before, although similar to realizing emptiness, it is bright like the clear daytime sky being pervaded by the rays of the sun. Because of the seven conceptualizations arising from ignorance, relying on the power of stopping the moving winds, when those conceptualizations cease, the wisdom of near attainment arises, which is realized like the darkness at the boundary where there is no light of the sun and moon. Regarding this, during the time of meditative equipoise, because the movement of the winds on the left and right ceases, it is called without life and effort. The meaning of the unspoken word is also that itself. The meaning of the winds dissolving into the alaya consciousness is like that, but it is not the co-emergent wind that dissolves. Therefore, the way in which the emptiness of mind isolation arises is a conceptualization that arises from the gradual cessation of conceptualizations based on external and internal conditions. It is not the meaning as stated in other tantras, as previously stated, in that and that position of the body such as the four wheels, through the power generated by the union of bindus, the order of the arising of the four joys, etc., the meanings are not the same. The five masters, father and sons, also did not speak of such a way of the arising of the four joys during mind isolation. Therefore, it is unreasonable to apply all the order of the arising of the realization of the four joys to the practice of mind isolation. Because for some differences of individuals, in both the empowerment and generation stage, it is said that the realization of the four joys arises relying on the external mudra, similarly, meditating on the subtle, and the self-nature contemplation of body isolation, and arising relying on speech isolation, etc., and the names of the four joys are similar but the meanings are different, so those should be well distinguished. From this time onwards, it is the time to engage in the conduct of the completion stage, because it is said, "From the discriminating wisdom of self-nature appearance, then one should practice diligently." Fourth, by repeatedly familiarizing oneself with those causes and conditions as mentioned before, the wisdom of appearance arises. Again, by familiarizing oneself with those collections of causes many times, the wisdom of increase and so on arises, but it does not arise on the single continuum of what arose before. All is empty and clear light, which is exemplified by the natural color of the dawn sky without sunlight.
