B. After that, draw the line. After drawing, invite the Buddhas to descend. First, draw the karma line first, and then draw the wisdom line later. Saraha, Black Practitioner, Abhya, and Vibhuti all say to do it this way, because the wisdom line blesses the karma line. Regarding the time to draw the karma line, the Vajra Dakini and other tantras and most mandala rituals say that the line is drawn in the main stage after the preparatory stage. Except for a few special cases such as drawing lines in the sky, the rituals such as drawing lines on the ground are common. The same is true for the wisdom line. The commentary tantra "Vajra Garland" says that the karma line should be drawn before the deity preparation. According to this statement, Longzhi began to draw the karma line after completing the ground ritual. Although two methods are mentioned, the latter should be followed in practice. Lavapa and Black Practitioner and others said that the perfume application for deity preparation should be done in the abode of the deities. Maitreyachandra also said, "Wherever the mandala is determined, apply five perfumes to that mandala, or apply other things." It means that after the place where the deities will descend is determined in the mandala drawn with colors, the perfume mandala for deity preparation should be performed there. If the line is not drawn, the abode of the deities cannot be determined. The commentary tantra "Vajra Garland" says that the karma line should be purified with three syllables (Tibetan: ཡིག་གསུམ།), and then offered with incense, torma, and flowers, and stabilized after reciting mantras. Bhava Bhadra said that this is the line of all karmas. Don Yozhab said, "Then, bless a thread of one color as the thread of all karmas, and use it to draw the ground line." Therefore, the wet-drawn line should be visualized as the line of all karmas, just like the karma vase. Longzhi said that the person who draws the karma line is the master and the Dharma friends, and also said that the residence and direction of the master and disciple should be determined. The Garland says that first draw the line on the fish mark that draws a circle, the steps of the master and disciple should be steady, the disciple should not walk with his back to the master, and hold the line with the vajra fist, etc. Wisdom line

The common rituals mentioned at this time should also be adopted here. Secondly, the material for the thread is clean, undamaged, and smooth cotton cloth or pure silk thread, i.e., without any hair mixed in. As for the original thread of the mandala, the material for the white thread is cotton cloth purchased at the price of a hero, and carefully selected material spun by an undamaged maiden, and the methods of spinning by the original thread master and fellow practitioners who have received oral transmission are explained separately. The thread for the activity thread should be as before, and it is also permissible for it to be spun by someone who holds vows. This should also be white in color, twisted with three strands without knots, and well spun. Insert and straighten it from the middle finger to the middle of the four fingers of the master and disciple, and make a vajra fist, except for the part attached to the back of the middle finger, the length should be twice the mandala, and the thickness should be one-twentieth of the door width. Do not use this thread for other mandalas. Anoint it with fragrant water, five elixirs, and five treasures, and write Oṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: 嗡), Āḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari: आ, Romanized Sanskrit: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: 阿), Hūṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: 吽) on both ends and in the middle of the thread, and place it in a clean container made of gold or other materials that have been anointed with fragrant water. Combine with the yoga of your own main deity, first purify it, visualize it as the one who dispels obstacles, invite the wisdom deity, etc., and make offerings. Touch it with your hand, recite all the activity mantras and protect it. Then, with the right and left eyes and the syllable "Ṭa," visualize the sun and moon as yellow, and stabilize it with "Vajra Dṛṣṭi Ma Ṭa." Recite all the activity mantras, and sprinkle it with water of the five elixirs, mustard seeds, and fragrant water. Touch it with the right hand holding the vajra, recite "Oṃ Vajra Samaya Sūtra Mati Krama Hūṃ," then recite "Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Phaṭ Svāhā" one hundred and eight times, and finally abide. Then recite "Oṃ Amogha Padma Vasuna Dhari Dhari Dhati Ni Maṇḍali Hūṃ" and the hundred-syllable mantra seven times. Scatter flowers on the thread and purify it with foot-washing water. The third part is divided into two parts: drawing the eight great lines, and drawing the remaining lines. The first part: Then, with "Oṃ Sarva Saṃśodhana Hūṃ Phaṭ," sprinkle fragrant water on the ground of the mandala to make it clean. Anoint it with fragrant water and spread flowers outside. Visualize the mandala to be drawn as residing in the sky, and with offerings prepared beforehand, make offerings and praises, and your own un moving yoga.
