The basis for adornment is like the Condensed Tantra. What adorns it are seven or twenty-eight. If the methods of adornment are summarized, they are considered to be two types: adornments that are not different in essence and adornments that are different. The first is that some say it is explained by six extremes, some say it is explained by four ways, some say it is by measure, and some say it is by two types of explanation, totaling thirteen. Others consider it to be fourteen with the name of the tantra. The second is considered to be the remaining fourteen of those. The adornments of the agent, the purpose, the person, and the ascertainment of the two truths, although their essence is different in the tantric texts, it seems that the remaining ones can be explained in both parts. The meaning of adornment is like the adornment of nature, such as a good body. If it is adorned with beautifying adornments such as a crown ornament, it creates joy in the mind. Similarly, here also, the adornment of nature, such as a good tantric text, if it is adorned with adornments such as two ways of explanation, it captivates the minds of the wise, hence it is an adornment. The second has seven: the differentiation of the names of the adornment of introduction, the differentiation of the names of the adornment of six extremes, the differentiation of the names of the adornment of four reasons, the differentiation of the names of the adornment of four ways, the differentiation of the names of the adornment of the way of explanation, the differentiation of the names of the adornment of the person, and the differentiation of the names of the adornment of the ascertainment of the two truths. The first is: what are the five types of adornment of introduction that were previously mentioned? The adornment of five types of introduction is as follows: the first of these, such as the name "Condensed," is the name or title of the tantra. As it is said in the Lamp Illuminating, "The name of the tantra is the title." In the Lamp Illuminating, for those who do not explicitly mention the name, some say that it is like not explicitly mentioning the names of superiors such as lamas, because the name is difficult to pronounce, so it is a great adornment of the tantra. However, in the Explanatory Tantra, it is said from the perspective of many root tantras, so it is not mentioned as a specific name, but rather as a general statement. And the Lamp Illuminating also explains it generally like the tantra, but by the power of the occasion, it can be understood as Condensed. That is, what is the name of the tantra that is to be explained first? Thinking that there is doubt and asking, it is necessary to say that the name of the tantra is this, and to mention the name. The second is that name

行的梵文是Kalpa(梵文天城体:कल्प,梵文罗马拟音:kalpa,汉语字面意思:劫),也指分别念,因此有十七种分别念。

When asked, for what kind of disciples is this pure tantra spoken? The answer is, this tantra is spoken for the sake of disciples who are sharp-witted and have strong desire for union, or for that purpose. As it is said in the scripture: "For the sake of passionate beings." Therefore, it shows that for those Shravakas who have renunciation practices, and those who have attachment to sensual pleasures but only use attachment as a path, and cannot use the desire for union as a path, this tantra is not spoken for the sake of the disciples of the lower tantras. The third question is, who is the original author of this tantra? The author is Vajrasattva, who abandoned the attire of renunciation and appeared in the form of a Chakravartin with desire. As it is said in the scripture: "The author of this is Vajra Mind." The fourth question is, what is the measure of this scripture? There are four measures: chapters, practices, sections, and sequences. As it is said in the scripture: "Chapters are also like practices, sections are also like sequences, they are four aspects, the number of the scripture itself." The version translated by Patsab is: "They are four aspects, the scripture is also by number." The version translated by Chak is: "The scripture itself is also by number." Therefore, the concept of measure is divided into the number of meanings expressed and the number of scriptures that can express them. Each of these two has four types, such as chapters. For example, in the case of the Compendium, the number of scriptures is seventeen chapters. The Sanskrit word for practice is Kalpa (梵文,梵文天城体:कल्प,梵文罗马拟音:kalpa,汉语字面意思:劫), which also refers to conceptualization, so there are seventeen conceptualizations. Seventeen sections. Seventeen sequences. In short, the measure of the scripture is how many chapters there are. The measure of meaning is the chapters of meaning, etc., which is Pariccheda (梵文,梵文天城体:परिच्छेद,梵文罗马拟音:pariccheda,汉语字面意思:完全切断), which means complete cutting off. It means that this difference in meaning is used to cut off this and that inconsistent aspect. Because it can conceptualize, it is conceptualization, that is, the conceptualization or detailed practice that is accomplished by this method of accumulating peaceful and other activities. Because it can be divided into sections, it is Khanda (梵文,梵文天城体:खण्ड,梵文罗马拟音:khaṇḍa,汉语字面意思:段), which is a section. That is, dividing the path of the five sequences and six branches into individual parts. Sequence division is like dividing into the generation stage and the completion stage.
