双运(ཟུང་འཇུག་,zung 'jug,yuganaddha,结合)的究竟之理是:有境(ཡུལ་ཅན་,yul can,viṣayin,有境)的乐(བདེ་བ་,bde ba,sukha,乐)的心(སེམས་,sems,citta,心)是境(ཡུལ་,yul,viṣaya,境)胜义(དོན་དམ་,don dam,paramārtha,胜义)谛(བདེན་པ་,bden pa,satya,谛)的究竟,以及极细微的风(རླུང་,rlung,vāyu,风)五光(འོད་ཟེར་ལྔའི་,'od zer lnga'i,pañca-raśmi,五光)的本性身(ལུས་,lus,kāya,身)是金刚萨埵(རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའི་,rdo rje sems dpa'i,vajrasattva,金刚萨埵)的身(སྐུ་,sku,kāya,身),具足相好(མཚན་དཔེས་བརྒྱན་པའི་,mtshan dpes brgyan pa'i,lakṣaṇa-anuvyañjana-maṇḍita,相好庄严)的究竟,即种子(སོན་པ་,son pa,bīja,种子)二者同时在心(ཐུགས་,thugs,citta,心)和身(སྐུར་,sku,kāya,身)中聚集。

Sa (ས་, sa, earth) has been spoken. Here, what does "ultimate" refer to? Some consider it the ultimate of luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous) Prajñāpāramitā (ཕར་ཕྱིན་, phar phyin, pāramitā, perfection), and the ultimate of union (ཟུང་འཇུག་, zung 'jug, yuganaddha, union) mantra (སྔགས་, sngags, mantra, mantra); others consider it the ultimate of luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous) substance or dharmatā (ཆོས་ཉིད་, chos nyid, dharmatā, suchness), and the ultimate of union (ཟུང་འཇུག་, zung 'jug, yuganaddha, union) wisdom (ཡེ་ཤེས་, ye shes, jñāna, wisdom) or path; still others consider it the ultimate of luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous) tantra (རྒྱུད་, rgyud, tantra, continuum), and the ultimate of union (ཟུང་འཇུག་, zung 'jug, yuganaddha, union) fruit. Among these, what is the ultimate of luminosity? It is taught in this very tantra that the limit of the aggregates (ཕུང་པོ་, phung po, skandha, aggregate), etc., is the three emptinesses (སྟོང་པ་, stong pa, śūnyatā, emptiness), and the limit of these three is said to be luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous). That is, the grosser ones gradually dissolve, and ultimately the three emptinesses dissolve into the earlier and later ones, reaching luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous). In the stage of the three appearances (སྣང་བ་, snang ba, ābhāsa, appearance), when dualistic appearance (གཉིས་སྣང་, gnyis snang, dvaita-ābhāsa, dualistic appearance) is impure, when the near attainment (ཉེར་ཐོབ་, nyer thob, upalabdhi, near attainment) of mind isolation (སེམས་དབེན་, sems dben, citta-virahita, mind isolation) enters into the luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous) of meaning, the subtle dualistic appearance completely dissolves like water into water, becoming one taste. Therefore, the ultimate of the co-emergent (ལྷན་ཅིག་སྐྱེས་པའི་, lhan cig skyes pa'i, sahaja, co-emergent) bliss (བདེ་བ་, bde ba, sukha, bliss) mind (སེམས་, sems, citta, mind) itself is the way of the ultimate of luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous). Such luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous) is unique to the unsurpassed yoga (སྔགས་བླ་མེད་, sngags bla med, anuttara-tantra, unsurpassed tantra) completion stage (རྫོགས་རིམ་, rdzogs rim, utpattikrama, completion stage), so it is not taught in the Prajñāpāramitā (ཕར་ཕྱིན་, phar phyin, pāramitā, perfection) vehicle, and this single dharma (ཆོས་, chos, dharma, dharma) is not the ultimate luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous), because above this there is the union (ཟུང་འཇུག་, zung 'jug, yuganaddha, union) of learning, so it is not the ultimate of the cause either. The way of the ultimate of union (ཟུང་འཇུག་, zung 'jug, yuganaddha, union) is: the mind (སེམས་, sems, citta, mind) of the subject (ཡུལ་ཅན་, yul can, viṣayin, subject) of bliss (བདེ་བ་, bde ba, sukha, bliss) is the ultimate of the object (ཡུལ་, yul, viṣaya, object) ultimate (དོན་དམ་, don dam, paramārtha, ultimate) truth (བདེན་པ་, bden pa, satya, truth), and the nature body (ལུས་, lus, kāya, body) of the extremely subtle wind (རླུང་, rlung, vāyu, wind) five lights (འོད་ཟེར་ལྔའི་, 'od zer lnga'i, pañca-raśmi, five lights) is the body (སྐུ་, sku, kāya, body) of Vajrasattva (རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའི་, rdo rje sems dpa'i, vajrasattva, Vajrasattva), adorned with marks and signs (མཚན་དཔེས་བརྒྱན་པའི་, mtshan dpes brgyan pa'i, lakṣaṇa-anuvyañjana-maṇḍita, adorned with marks and signs), the ultimate, that is, the two seeds (སོན་པ་, son pa, bīja, seeds) gather simultaneously in the heart (ཐུགས་, thugs, citta, heart) and body (སྐུར་, sku, kāya, body). The way of the ultimate is like this, but it is not the ultimate of the path's progress, so both of these exist even in the path of learning. Then, in relation to the two truths (བདེན་གཉིས་, bden gnyis, satya-dvaya, two truths), dividing the ultimate of gathering and separation into two, the latter needs two ultimates: the conventional (ཀུན་རྫོབ་, kun rdzob, saṃvṛti, conventional) ultimate and the ultimate (དོན་དམ་, don dam, paramārtha, ultimate) ultimate. Since the ultimate of the ultimate (དོན་དམ་, don dam, paramārtha, ultimate) luminosity (འོད་གསལ་, 'od gsal, prabhāsvara, luminous) has been explained, why is the ultimate of the conventional (ཀུན་རྫོབ་, kun rdzob, saṃvṛti, conventional) illusion (སྒྱུ་མའི་, sgyu ma'i, māyā, illusion) not explained, but instead explained as hidden meaning? For this question, first the way of union (ཟུང་དུ་འཇུག་, zung du 'jug, yuganaddha, union) must be explained, so what is that like? Although many classifications of union (ཟུང་འཇུག་, zung 'jug, yuganaddha, union) are spoken of in the five stages (རིམ་ལྔ་, rim lnga, pañcakrama, five stages), the main one is: "Knowing that, the four stages, self-blessing and luminosity, whatever is the gathering of those alone, this is the stage of union." That is, self-blessing and luminosity.
