Because it is said that there is no commonality and there is commonality in name, it is not the view of that scholar. If external objects are prohibited in name, then such a fault will necessarily fall on the mind that exists in name. If you want a proof that the mind exists in name, then such a proof can necessarily be found on external objects, so it is not the view of the noble ones either. These have been explained in detail elsewhere, so I will not elaborate on them here. The meaning of the first quote from the Lamp Illuminating Wisdom is that it is the occasion to show that there is no desire for the fruit of the three doors of liberation. The main thing that prevents the desire for the fruit is not external matter, but liberation. Because when it is prevented by the reason that there is no object of true attachment to it, the external object that is said is to prevent only what is established by the mind, and becomes other things on the external object. The reason for this is that the nature of the mind is to show that it is only the nature established by the mind, so it is not to prevent external objects in name. The meaning of the second quote is that the yogi who has attained the tranquility of mind shows the way of meditating on all appearances such as form and sound as the essence of the three minds, not the source of the non-existence of external objects. If it is not so, then because it is said that form and sound should always be meditated on as gods, then the form and sound of non-gods will not exist. Similarly, from the sections of the aggregates, etc., when the mind is tranquil, the word "only" in the statement of mind-only does not prevent external objects. But at that time of wisdom, it is the meaning of cutting off the innate concept. If external objects exist, then what is the meaning of saying that wind and mind are only, and there is no other meaning? The proximate cause for the attainment of the rainbow body Vajrasattva, the body of no-more-learning union, in this life is the body of learning union, and its proximate cause is the body of illusion. That is the body of Vajrasattva accomplished only by wind and mind. Therefore, wanting to determine the basis of what it is accomplished from, he said the body of wind and mind. In this way, the body of wind and mind that is said is the original body that has become the basis for establishing the names of sentient beings such as "I", has been exhausted in the body of wind and mind, so the original body that is different in nature from it

This is to explain the absence of inherent existence, not to explain the absence of external objects, nor to explain that the coarse body of maturation is not the body of sentient beings. Thus, there are two kinds of bodies of sentient beings: the temporary body and the inherent body. The first is the body other than the body of wind and mind alone, such as the coarse material body of maturation. The second is the body composed of wind and mind alone. The coarse body is not without the body of sentient beings even when it is not yet born at the time of conception, etc. Similarly, at the time of death, even if the coarse material body is abandoned, the body of sentient beings does not disappear, so it is not the inherent body, like heat in water. The body of wind and mind alone does not disappear in all those situations, so it is the inherent body, like moisture in water. Even now, in the stage of the coarse physical body, the inherent body is the body of wind and mind alone, so the coarse body is like its dwelling. The mind that is said to be the inherent body of wind and mind is not the five sense consciousnesses, but the mind consciousness; and the wind is not the wind other than the life-sustaining wind, but the life-sustaining wind; and it is the subtle wind that is inseparable from the mind, the support of the mind. At the end of death, the intermediate state body is formed separately from this coarse body, just as the ability to transfer consciousness can separate the wind and mind from this coarse body. Similarly, because of having the supreme instructions, even if one does not practice from the coarse body, one can arise from the wind and mind alone as the illusory body of Vajradhara. Considering this meaning, in the Five Stages it says: "It is perfectly united with the wind, the three consciousnesses reappear, in the body of the yogi, it is said to be the illusory body." Just as it is said that the illusory body is accomplished from the wind and mind alone, the Compendium of Practice and the Lamp That Illuminates also say that the illusory body is accomplished from the wind and mind alone. If one is to attain enlightenment in this life, and the illusory body is to be accomplished from the proximate cause of both the subtle and coarse bodies of maturation, then it is unreasonable to say that it is accomplished from only the two, wind and mind. For example, just as one weaves cloth from all the wool, it is not acceptable to say that one weaves cloth from only two strands of wool.
