It is explained that this is for the purpose of reciting in the manner of arising from the indestructible jewel and giving the desired meaning. Hā (Tibetan: ཧཱ།), is the seed syllable of accomplishing meaning, and in the commentary on the thirteenth chapter it says: Vajra recitation is a recitation that has meaning. As it is said, for whose meaning it is recited, that meaning is accomplished by it, therefore, considering that meaning, Hā (Tibetan: ཧཱ།) is said. Although the commentary does not explicitly state whether the three mantras that stimulate the essence are Vajra recitation, according to the prophecy of the intention, and as in the five stages these three letters are explained as the three letters of Vajra recitation, in the stage of stimulating the essence in the generation stage, it is good to do the recitation of these three letters as Vajra recitation. In the commentary on "The Subduer Vajra King," it says that through the Vajra recitation of the three letters, and all the mantras of Eye Mother and Yamantaka, etc., the siddhi will be accomplished without delay. And, in the thirteenth chapter it also says: Through the practice of Vajra recitation, all the Buddhas bestow blessings. And, because reciting all mantras with the mouth is the supreme method of uttering sound. In the Sutra Samuccaya made in the commentary, the four lines "Located in the center of the sphere of space," and in the Noble Sutra Samuccaya, from "Located in the center of the sphere of space" to "Vajradhara of body, speech, and mind," at the end of the sadhana, transforming all sentient beings into Vajradhara and gathering them close to oneself, this is in accordance. Although the two explanations of the commentary do not completely agree, it should be known that they are not contradictory, as mentioned before. If the Completion Stage practitioner has already brought conduct under control, but has not accomplished siddhi, then it is said that the essence should be stimulated, then what kind of Completion Stage practitioner needs to stimulate the essence? If one wonders, what is the situation where even though conduct has been performed, siddhi has not been accomplished? Then, there are three situations for this Completion Stage conduct, among which, when practicing the illusory body after obtaining mind isolation, there is no need to stimulate the essence. In the third stage, after obtaining the illusory body, when practicing the learning union, even though conduct has been performed, if the union has not been accomplished, then stimulating the essence, this is clear in this chapter, and in the commentary on the later tantra, Naropa says that the vows should be made three times.

Then one should practice the three conducts for eighteen months. Even if one has not attained unsurpassable enlightenment through this, it is to show the fierce ritual. Thus it is said. Moreover, in the Later Tantra itself, it is said: When enlightenment is not attained, it should be accomplished through fierce application. Thus it is also said. Therefore, having attained the union of learning, even if one practices for the sake of the meaning of the union of no more learning, if the supreme is not attained, it is to urge diligence. The manner of not attaining accomplishment is: In the Compendium of Conduct, it says: The three kinds of conduct, practiced for half a month, or a month, or six months, will cause the signs of attaining the great seal accomplishment to appear closely, and thus by practicing in those three periods according to the order of the senses, the signs of the eight qualities of mastery, such as the body becoming subtle and the touch becoming light, will appear. If that does not happen, then it is to urge diligence. In the case of the illusory body, as stated in the Later Tantra, even if one practices for six months, if one does not attain the union of learning, then it is necessary to urge diligence. The way of that is, relying on the practice of the Spo-chog ritual for one or two sets of six months, one should become accustomed to causing the illusory body to enter into luminosity through the two meditations, and it is evident that performing fierce application to the deity is itself urging diligence. For this, since the union is not attained, there is no meaning in urging diligence in meditating on the union. The four lines, "However many mantra practitioners there are," show the union of learning for which diligence is urged. In the commentary of this chapter itself, the question is, "What should be done if one attains it afterwards?" The answer is, "After entering into the ultimate truth, generate one's own great seal, which is the nature of the two truths," and, "The three vajras, like space, will be attained by this enlightenment." In the commentary to this, it is said that enlightenment will be attained by the application of union. Therefore, in the commentary, "The mistress of knowledge," and so forth, it is said that the method of the union of the two senses is taught. Because the Perfection of Wisdom enters into luminosity, it makes the aggregates and so forth invisible, this itself.
