Having meditated on abiding in this, the conduct becomes inseparable from it. As it is said, it can be known. Also, from the Compendium of Conduct, it is said that the practitioner who engages in conduct belongs to the conventional truth, which can also be known. That is to be combined with both the third and fifth stages, the supports of the conventional illusory body. Furthermore, in the Compendium of Conduct, it is said: Without the conduct of asceticism, it is not possible to exhaust the beginningless afflictive habitual patterns. As it is said, the afflictive habitual patterns and all the obscurations of substantial clinging cannot be exhausted without the conduct of asceticism, and exhausting them in this very life is also not possible without that conduct. The seed of affliction is called habitual pattern, and its rapid exhaustion also depends on it. Therefore, it is understood that in order to achieve the union of learning and non-learning, two types of conduct must be practiced. Refuting disputes about conduct: If, from the time of empowerment, attachment to desirable qualities can be used as the path, then the main of the three conducts is limited to that extent, so what is the need to practice conduct separately from those? To this, the enhancing conduct of the completion stage is for the sake of attaining enlightenment in this life, as it is said in the Second Stage: The discriminating wisdom of self-nature's appearance, and relying on the fourth of that, whoever does not train in the three, does not quickly obtain the result. Just as fire resides in wood, it will not arise until it is rubbed, likewise, enlightenment is devoid of training, it will not arise in this very life. As it is said, and in the Compendium of Conduct and the Lamp Illuminating, it is also said that by practicing conduct, supreme accomplishment will be attained in this very life. The reason for this is that when the yoga of wind is perfected, one is able to generate three wisdoms, but if there is no external consort as a companion, one cannot generate the wisdom of mind isolation that possesses all the characteristics, so for that purpose one must rely on it. Thus, although the power of striking the vital points of the inner body to gather the winds, and the power of blazing heat and melting bodhicitta may be perfected, even so, through the door of the consort, by obtaining great distinctions in those, there is a clear progression in the stages of proceeding to the realization of that very suchness. Therefore, when the power of the skillful means of striking the vital points of the inner body is perfected, the consort
