Thus it is said. In the realm called the sphere of space, it is seen like a sesame pod. Like the sands of the Ganges River, the Tathagatas are completely filled. That very letter, by relying on its means, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will attain the unsurpassed state. Thus, the meaning of these two letters is praised as the essence of the path to enlightenment. Therefore, it is said in that very text: Here, these two letters are indispensable at the beginning of the tantra. It is said that these two letters are absolutely necessary at the beginning of all unsurpassed tantras, which means that even if the letter E-vam (ཨེ་ཝཾ།, Sanskrit, E vaṃ, Thus) is not actually present, its essential meaning must be there. Thirdly, the meaning of E is: the lotus womb of the mother is the support, and the meaning of Vam is: the vajra of the father relying on it, and the bindu residing on the vajra, which is the basis of all bliss, such as the great bliss of Vajrasattva, which manifests various emanations. E is the characteristic of the lotus womb, the lotus should be known as the support, the support is said to be the vajra, the one who holds the vajra, the form of the bindu residing on it, manifests various emanations, the place of the basis of all bliss, the great bliss of Vajrasattva. Thus. Therefore, by combining the E-vam, which are the symbols of the father and mother, the method of generating the path E-vam is shown. By striking the vital points of one's own body internally, the method of generating the path E-vam, the E-vam of the symbols of the vital points of the body, is also stated in the Sambhuta: In the crown and navel chakras, the letter E resides perfectly, in the heart and throat chakras, it is considered to be like the letter Vam. Thus, the shape of the channels and wheels of the crown and navel, the shape of the triangular letter E, the shape of the channels and wheels of the heart and throat, the shape of the circular letter Vam, are said to be the meaning of E-vam. Here, the so-called symbol is the symbol of the characteristic of the shape. Thus, if one has a good understanding of the E-vam of the result and wishes to obtain it, then one should, as explained in the two tantras, understand well the way to combine the two E-vams of the path, the method of generating it, the external symbol of E-vam and the mudra, combine together, and strike the internal symbol of E-vam at the vital points of the channels and wheels.

Having mastered the method and devising ways to guide this path, it encompasses all the essential points of the two tantras. If one thoroughly understands the meaning of the two syllables and how all the tantras proceed in their branches, one will come to know that the meaning of the two syllables, which is greatly praised in the tantras, is the essential meaning. The main point of all the tantras is the meaning of E-VAM, and its definitive meaning is the two, emptiness and compassion. If one asks what the meaning of these two is, the syllable E and the shape of the Dharmadhatu, being triangular, symbolize the suchness of selflessness. The three parts of the triangle also symbolize the three doors of liberation. The essence, cause, and effect of all phenomena, being empty of inherent existence, and the meaning of signlessness and wishlessness, are the symbolic meanings of the syllable E. If there is no definitive view of emptiness, the meaning of the syllable E is incomplete. Even if that exists, if there is no great bliss arising from touching the vital points of the inner and outer body, the meaning of the syllable VAM is incomplete. Even if both of these exist, if one does not know how to generate the view of emptiness into the essence of melting bliss, and having made emptiness the object and great bliss the subject, and thereby ascertains the union of bliss and emptiness without any inversion, then the meaning of the bindu is incomplete. Therefore, if one wishes to know the meaning of E-VAM, the inseparability of bliss and emptiness, one must know these. In the E-VAM, which is inseparable from the two truths, the meaning of E is the wisdom of the luminosity of meaning. The meaning of the syllable VAM is the completely pure illusory body. The way to unite these two inseparably is to unite the former (E) as the mind and the latter (VAM) as the body into one essence, which is the meaning of the bindu, the second meaning of E-VAM, the ultimate of union. These have been explained in detail in the "Lamp Illuminating the Five Stages," and should be understood from there. If one systematically summarizes the stages of the path, one should proceed as explained in the first chapter, according to the explanation in the summary of meanings. If one explains in relation to the first stage, then extracting the mandala of the thirteen deities is what is said in the empowerment mandala. Representing this explanation, one should complete the remaining empowerment rituals and first receive the wisdom empowerment given in the empowerment mandala.
