It is clear that the absence of forty letters that do not belong to the verses indicates that the Chinese version is incorrect. It seems that there are many different Chinese versions of this tantra. Regarding the way to explain this, some enlightened lamas explain it without disrupting the order of the text, while others disrupt the order of the text, as the former ones say. Although the Tibetan commentators explain it according to the latter method, it is very inconvenient to explain by disrupting the order of the text. Therefore, here, we will follow the enlightened lamas and explain it without disrupting the text. However, the meaning of the parts that are reversed in order will be noted in the commentary as "This is in the three hidden chapters," and the reversal of meaning must be arranged. Although Kalsang Drakpa and Thukje Zhabs do not make etymological explanations by adding letters, according to Je Gos's view, explaining by adding letters is very consistent with the meaning of the tantra, and the explanation of Pandit Kuladhara also explains by adding letters. In this way, from E-vam to Bi-ja-ha-ra, the meaning is explained as the hidden meaning. The Vajra Garland says: "What is said at the beginning in the tantra, What is this word 'I' and so on like? This word and so on, the first word, How does the meaning become extensive?" The first two lines ask how the meaning of the initial introduction, which is said at the beginning in the tantra of the gathering and so on, is transformed into the meaning of the two words E-vam; the latter two lines ask what would happen if the meaning of each word such as E-vam were explained in detail. The latter answer to these two questions, which is to explain each letter and each verse, is what is quoted in the commentary. The answer to the first question that is not quoted is that the three meanings of E-vam are said, namely the E-vam of the fruit to be obtained, the E-vam of the path of attainment, and the E-vam of the symbol that guides it. The meaning of the first "E" is that the teacher resides and teaches the Dharma from there, some tantras say that it is secret, some tantras say that it is space, and similarly, they also say Bhaga, Dharma-genesis, Lotus, and Lion Throne, etc. The meaning of "Vam" is that the teacher is given different names in different tantras, such as Vajradhara, Vajrasattva, Vajrabhairava, Vajreshvara, Heruka, Kalachakra, and Primordial Buddha, etc. E is secret space.

Homage! In the lotus, the auspicious Dharma arises, seated on the seat of the yogi lion, becoming the supremely wondrous teacher. Vajrasattva, Vam Vajra, Vajrabhairava, the powerful one, Heruka and Kalachakra, and the names of the first Buddha, and so on. Thus and so on. Among them, the true meaning of the most secret, etc., is emptiness, and the true meaning of Vajrasattva, etc., is great compassion, therefore it is the teaching of the inseparability of emptiness and compassion. E-Vam (ཨེ་ཝཾ་, Devanagari: ए वं, Roman transliteration: e vaṃ, literal meaning: thus) is the womb of the Tathagata, a symbol of non-duality, emptiness and compassion are inseparable, and that which is manifested is the womb of the Tathagata, the symbol of non-dual wisdom, which is said to be the basis of all tantras. Thus it is said. The meaning of the second E (ཨེ་, Devanagari: ए, Roman transliteration: e, literal meaning: E) is: wisdom emptiness, and the meaning of Vam (ཝཾ་, Devanagari: वं, Roman transliteration: vaṃ, literal meaning: Vam) is: the two of skillful means and great compassion, and the meaning of the bindu is: the inseparable union of the two, skillful means and wisdom, which is the essence of the meaning that pervades the eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma, and is said to be the seal of the condensed Dharma King. In the Vajra Garland it is said: E (ཨེ་, Devanagari: ए, Roman transliteration: e, literal meaning: E) is said to be emptiness, and Vam (ཝཾ་, Devanagari: वं, Roman transliteration: vaṃ, literal meaning: Vam) is compassion, and the bindu arises from the union of the two, and that union is supremely wondrous. It pervades the eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma, and is the condensed seal of Dharma, and is the seal of the Great King, which is first spoken of in all the tantras. Thus it is said. Such non-dual wisdom, from whatever tantra it is spoken, has the supreme Suchness, and if it is not spoken, it does not exist. The meaning of all the tantras is condensed, emptiness and compassion are inseparable, and that which is manifested is the womb of the Tathagata. The two letters called E-Vam (ཨེ་ཝཾ་, Devanagari: ए वं, Roman transliteration: e vaṃ, literal meaning: thus), and that which does not have these two, does not have Suchness. Thus it is said. It is also said in the Secret Accomplishment: It abides at the beginning of the tantra, the essence of the heart is the supreme essence, and that is said by the Lord of Great Bliss, and is called the Secret Suchness. The source of happiness for all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and sentient beings, the King of Tantras of Secret Retention, abides in the glorious Guhyasamaja. To the pure letter E-Vam (ཨེ་ཝཾ་, Devanagari: ए वं, Roman transliteration: e vaṃ, literal meaning: thus), all three realms bow down with reverence.
