Furthermore, it is shown that the uncommon meaning of those explanations must be done as explained here. Then, the two lines say that the yogi who has accomplished the illusory body sees all sentient beings as being the same as himself, as previously explained, this refers to seeing their original bodies in that way. Regarding the clear light of the fourth stage, the two bodhicittas, inner and outer, that are explained therein will be elucidated in the conclusion of the fifteenth chapter. Now, to briefly explain the methods for manifesting these two bodhicittas, which are the two meditations, from the Five Stages: The disciple who has received the instructions, thereafter should train in the two yogas, which are the stage of complete holding, and likewise, the subsequent stage of dissolution. From the head to the feet, as far as reaching the heart, the yoga correctly enters into the end, this is called complete holding. Movement and non-movement, first make it clear light, then from the outside in, likewise make it oneself, this is the stage of subsequent dissolution. The breath of air on the mirror, how it completely dissolves, likewise, the yoga correctly reaches the end, again and again entering. Thus it is said. Among these, complete holding refers to gathering downwards from one's own head, and gathering upwards from the feet, both ends being the heart, which is what is meant by 'as far as reaching the heart.' Having thus gathered into the heart, the yogi correctly enters into the end, the clear light. The example of this is shown by the four lines beginning with 'the breath,' just as when one breathes on a mirror, the breath gathers from all around into its center, likewise, gathering from above and below, front and back, and right and left of one's own body, into the center of the heart. Subsequent dissolution refers to first gathering the environment and its inhabitants into clear light, and then subsequently gathering oneself into clear light. The phrase 'likewise make it oneself' refers to the Black Practitioner saying to do it like complete holding, this is well said. The phrase 'again and again' means that these two practices need to be done repeatedly. The example of subsequent dissolution is like a snowball floating in the water of a pond, gradually melting. One's own aggregates gradually disintegrating, both of these practices have, the only difference being whether or not one first gathers the other environment and its inhabitants. The literal meaning of subsequent dissolution is as explained above, while complete refers to holding with one's own body and its emptiness, this is the meaning of complete holding, A.
