Just as I abide in suchness. Know that samsara itself is this. Thus it is said. The first verse explains that sentient beings do not arise independently, regardless of the clear light of death preceding them. Therefore, all clear light arises from emptiness. The second verse explains that sentient beings take birth by the power of the wind-mind of the clear light of death. That same wind-mind, which wanders in samsara, appears to skillful yogis as an illusory body and attains enlightenment. Therefore, in the Vajramala Tantra, it says: Birth and abiding, as well as destruction, exist in the intermediate state. As the world measures it, it is the manifestation of the wind of mind. Thus, the three states of birth, death, and abiding of beings, and the intermediate state, are all said to be manifestations of wind-mind alone. In the Gongpa Lungten, it also says: Those with consciousness and those without consciousness, measured as sentient beings, abide here. They all arise from wind, and again cease from wind. The mind that has not realized, even though it has turned into the ocean of samsara, that has become inverted. The mind will also turn into dogs, jackals, elephants, and horses. Thus, it is said that wind and mind both wander in various beings, showing that all beings are merely bodies of wind-mind. This shows that the primordial body, which is the basis for applying the term "sentient being," is exhausted in the body of wind-mind alone. Therefore, there is no primordial body of a different nature from it. It does not mean that there is no external world, nor does it mean that the coarse body of maturation is not the body of a sentient being. Thus, there are two bodies of sentient beings: the temporary body and the primordial body. The first is the coarse body of maturation, which is different from the body of wind-mind, and so on. The second is the body composed of wind-mind alone. The coarse body, although it does not arise at the beginning, such as at the time of conception, is not without the body of a sentient being. Similarly, although the coarse body of origin is abandoned at the time of death, the body of a sentient being does not revert, so it is not the primordial body, like heat in water. The body of wind-mind does not revert in all those states, so it is the primordial body, like moisture in water. Now, form

Even in the case of the gross body, the original body is merely a body of wind and mind. The gross body is like its dwelling. Although there are other necessities for saying this, the main purpose is to identify the basis from which to cultivate the illusory body, which is the original body. Its mind is not the root consciousness, but merely the consciousness of the mind. The wind is also not the other four root winds and five branch winds, but the life-sustaining wind. Moreover, there are two types of life-sustaining wind, subtle and gross, and here it refers to the subtle one. The body of sentient beings with limbs and other forms, which is composed of only these, and is the basis, is the body that appears separately in the bardo and dreams. If the basis for the cultivation of the illusory body is like this in the basic state, then how should the cultivation basis be generated in the path state? In the 'Five Stages,' it says: 'It is perfectly united with wind, the three consciousnesses are born again, in the body of the yogi, it is said to be the illusory body. Therefore, all beings, here it is said to be like illusion, abiding in the illusion-like samadhi, seeing everything as the same.' etc. In 'Transformation,' it says: 'Those perfectly united with wind, the three consciousnesses are again.' This is said to be correct. Among them, the first verse is through the method of cultivating the inner and outer life force, the consciousness of the cultivation basis is generated into the three appearances of mind isolation, that is, the mind and its mount, the wind, arise in the body of the yogi, which is called the illusory body. And the meaning of 'again' is that this yogi not only obtained the body of wind and mind when he first took birth. Then, the two lines of poetry explain the method of cultivating the illusory body, therefore, in this unsurpassed vehicle, it is said that all beings are like illusion, and there is a meaning of illusion that is uncommon to the Paramita vehicle, the lower tantras, and the generation stage practitioners. The saying of being like illusion, in the 'Vajra Dakini' it says: 'Like the image in a mirror, dreams, bubbles, and what is seen by eye dizziness, it is said that they are the main ones.' What is said is similar to what is listed in the 'Five Stages,' which explains other places in the unsurpassed tantra.
