is the fourth. The three universal appearances of self-nature, the former dissolving into the latter, thereby becoming like a cloudless sky, and constantly appearing, merely becoming luminosity, is the fifth. Although emptiness appearing like a cloudless sky is also present in the first three, the special one is the state of the fourth. Through these five signs, one will attain the ultimate luminosity of transcendence of suffering. The statement that mirages and the like arise from earth dissolving into water and so on, as it is said, the treatise on the differentiation of the limits of karma is the treatise of Nagarjuna, and not, as Kadam Drakpa said, the sutra of "differentiation of the limits of karma." From the Differentiation of the Limits of Karma: First, earth dissolves into water. Water also dissolves into fire. Fire dissolves into wind. Wind also enters into consciousness. The apprehended consciousness, that is, the grasping itself, also enters into luminosity. Thus it is said, in that treatise, although those quotations show the order of death of the base, it and the entry into the luminosity of the path, because they appear like mirages and so on, are similar, so they are quoted here. From... it is known. Having become stable, that is, having become completely pure in luminosity, from the Vajra path, that is, the order of the five signs that do not transcend the order of mirages and so on, entering into luminosity, therefore, one should expand into the realm of space, that is, the realms of the world, and pervade in the manner of the Dharmakaya. What is said is the meaning of pervading the nature of all phenomena of vessel and contents with wisdom. Those are called the limb of grasping, the fourth. From the Lamp Illuminating translated by Lotsawa Droen Sal, immediately after the explanation of the first two lines of "self-mastery" is finished, it appears, "This is the limb of grasping, the fourth." The translation of Patsab is also the same as that. From the translation of Ngok: At this time, those are called the limb of grasping, the fourth. Just as those treatises are all made into treatises of the limb of grasping, so also it appears in the translation of Chak. Thus, although there seem to be two Chinese versions, it is good like the translation of Ngok, this is known through the explanation of the commentary. ༈ Thus, having meditated that oneself has gone into luminosity, that is, having made it manifest, the appearance of the mirage-like appearance that was previously remembered is true...

It is like obtaining the limit, and the order of rainbows, etc., is as previously stated. When entering the clear light in accordance with the previous order, it is like entering with the appearance of rainbows, etc. It is said that the order also arises in the same way when reversing. Starting from the near attainment arising from the clear light, under the appearance, there is a lamp, then a meteor, then smoke, and then things like rainbows arise. The order should be gradually increased and generated. Know and understand that those just mentioned are said to be mindfulness. As for what is said to arise from the separate appearances, the separate appearances are the wisdom of the clear light of perfect knowledge. The limb of mindfulness will arise from the clear light, but not otherwise. It is said so emphatically because there are two ways of entering the clear light, in accordance with the order and in reverse order. Wanting to know which of these two mindfulnesses is related to which situation, it must be said that the order arises in reverse order from the clear light. Other than that, it is not related to the order. It is for the purpose of determining this truth. In this way, from the three appearances that arise in reverse order from the clear light of meaning to the rainbow, it is mindfulness. Therefore, it is said to be mindfulness. What is said here is the order of meaning. ༈ Regarding the means, etc., the means (Tibetan: ཐབས, Sanskrit Devanagari: उपाय, Sanskrit Romanization: upāya, Chinese literal meaning: means) is and (Tibetan: ནི, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization:, Chinese literal meaning: is), wisdom (Tibetan: ཤེས་རབ, Sanskrit Devanagari: प्रज्ञा, Sanskrit Romanization: prajñā, Chinese literal meaning: wisdom) is absorption (Tibetan: སྙོམས་པར་འཇུག་པ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization:, Chinese literal meaning: absorption) is, the illusory body of the pure conventional truth and, although the ultimate truth is spoken of, the nature of the wisdom of clear light, which is of the same taste as it, is inseparably combined. The earth, all things, the essence that flows and the nature of the vessel that does not flow, the place where the earth exists, in short, in the form of a mass, is made into one by the image of the great mudra of the deity. The flowing and the non-flowing in the middle of it are of the nature of union. Know that you should meditate on the image of the Great Vajradhara. The way to make it one is that the root of all that is stable and moving is only wind and mind, and that also arises as one body of union. From the clear light, in the manner of a fish rising from the water, this order, by the word "instantly," that is, in an instant, cuts off the interruption from the clear light.
