JLD004 0001.The Re Explanation of the Commentary on the Great Explanation of the Glorious Guhyasamāja, the King of All Tantras, The Lamp That Illuminates, Which Differentiates the Meaning of the Words as They Are..g2.0f

English

Suchness itself, only that is taught. Like the attainment of Vajra, having been thoroughly obtained by the fire of opposing factors. Samaya, that is, the abode of Vajradhara, is what is declared. The aggregates and so forth are taught as being without inherent existence. What is not to be heard is whatever does not enter the ears of those who are manifestly attached to things, such as the meaning of harsh speech. The definitive meaning of speaking harsh words is when a yogi trains in the indivisibility of bliss and emptiness. This is the way to generate the path of the completion stage of the Ratnasambhava family. Swiftly attaining enlightenment is the definitive meaning. Although there is no contradiction in the path of illusion and the union of light, etc., to be generated in the tantra, there is a difference in those who generate it in that tantra as practitioners of the five families, so it is done according to that, and it is taught separately. It is said that the practitioners of each family generate the five Vajradharas, residing in the center of the sphere of space, the latter being the illusory body, and the sphere of space, etc., is entering into clear light, although the former is explained, the intention of the commentary is to consider meditating on Akshobhya, etc., as the illusory body, so those should be treated as not having been taught by the scriptures. These quotations in the commentary, in the scriptures translated now, although there are many words that are different but the meaning is the same, those words and meanings quoted here that are completely absent should be understood as the Sanskrit manuscript being impure. ༈ Bodhisattvas and great beings residing in the retinue of the great Vajradhara, for the benefit of future beings of inferior faculties such as lotuses who do not understand the definitive meaning of the Vajra words spoken about the distinctions of the vows just mentioned, such as killing, etc., therefore, wanting to teach by collecting what was asked, therefore, he taught from then on, etc. From then on means after showing the five vows. All Tathagatas are of equal nature, that is, the Sanskrit word for vow (Tibetan: ས་མ་ཡ་ལ་ས་མ་ཏ་,梵文天城体:समयल समत,梵文罗马拟音:samayala samata,汉语字面意思:vow, equality), this is said to mean equality. Therefore, it is the vow of all the Tathagatas. What is it? It is Vajra Auspiciousness, because it is marked with Vajra, it is Vajrapani. Those and so on are those before.

Entering into this, namely, the Bodhisattvas who first generated Bodhicitta, showing the distinction of Samadhi with words contrary to the worldly, becoming rare and wonderful, and thus speaking without hindrance, the Vajra words of speech are spoken from what is said below. The question of "Bhagavan" and so on, is because the Tathagatas in the retinue falsely ask with words knowing the path, and it is said to show how to ask the Bhagavan. The great Vajradhara Bhagavan is the Lord of all Tathagatas, transcending the three realms, so it should be connected with "Why is this Vajra word spoken?". Realm (Tibetan: ཁམས་, Sanskrit Devanagari: धातु, Sanskrit Romanization: dhātu, Chinese literal meaning: realm) is dhāraṇa (Sanskrit Devanagari: धारण, Sanskrit Romanization: dhāraṇa, Chinese literal meaning: holding), holding its own nature, which is the wisdom with the nature of thorough discernment. Among them, wisdom is divided into three types: superior, medium, and inferior. The three realms are transcended by the difference of karma, and no longer return, so they are beyond the three realms. Therefore, it is beyond all the realms of the world, transcending the differences of superior, medium, and inferior wisdom that dwell in all the realms of the world. In the retinue of all Tathagatas and all Bodhisattvas, it is as rare as taking coolness from fire, because the speech is unprecedented and impossible, so it is unreal, and the words that show this are unreal words. This is what should be thoroughly entered, so it is the path. It is indivisible, so it is Vajra. Because it follows the speech of all Tathagatas, it should be upheld, so this is the word. Thus, why is this unreal word-path Vajra word spoken? That is, asking: In the past, in the two retinues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and in the two retinues of Sangha and disciples in the future, generating regret, why does the Bhagavan speak, even to the meaning of not speaking. After hearing what the Bodhisattvas just said, the Tathagatas gathered in the retinue of the Bhagavan.

Having not fully realized the intention of the Bhagavan, but pretending as if not realized, and after observing, answering truthfully, in order to gather these, in order to properly establish the place of what is being explained, therefore, "thereafter" etc. is spoken. It should be connected with "The Bhagavan spoke thus." The meaning of "words cannot exhaust" etc. has already been explained in the first chapter. Regarding "son of good family" etc., this is the answer. "Son of good family" is a term of address. Family refers to the various families such as the Vajra family, and since Bodhisattvas are born from these families, they are called sons of good family. Having doubts about the vows of killing etc., thereby generating bad and inferior thoughts, this is inferior thinking. The thought of being condemned by the world is the thought of condemnation. Do not generate these two kinds of thoughts just mentioned, that is, do not do that, this is a prohibition. In order to reveal the fault of generating inferior thoughts, therefore, "Why is that?" etc. is spoken. For what reason should one not do that? Therefore, "son of good family" etc. is spoken. For example, "the conduct of mantra is the supreme of conduct" means that compared to the conduct of Shravakas etc., the conduct of Bodhisattvas is the supreme conduct. For the conduct of Bodhisattvas, whether it is contrary to the world like "one should kill," or not contrary to the world like "one should abandon killing," in whatever way the benefit of sentient beings can be perfected, the mantra practitioners should exert themselves as much as possible, this is the conduct of Bodhisattvas. Therefore, even engaging in killing etc., one can accomplish great benefit for sentient beings, and if one condemns it, one will accumulate sins. For example, "the conduct of mantra is the conduct of the Tathagata" means that those who have received teachings from the teacher and repeatedly recite them are called mantras, like a person who is like a precious jewel. Their conduct is the realization of the complete order, having obtained it, the conduct after non-meditation, acting with conduct that is contrary to the world.
