Those (teachings) are spoken in the first chapter of the Condensed Compendium. This teacher considers the main deity first and Vairochana second, therefore he authorizes the empowerment of the family residing in the center, which is Akshobhya. Nagarjuna Bodhisattva considers it to be Akshobhya, so he does not speak of the first two mudras, etc., out of the four mudras. Since Akshobhya resides in the center, according to that system, it seems necessary to perform the hand gestures of the directions like a garland. Lavapa, Krishnacharya, and Sarahah first make prostrations with the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and then make prostrations to the four directions. The former seems to be making prostrations to the main deity. They perform the practice by moving the recitation of the names of the deities of each direction, such as the Dakinis. Gyalwa Zangpo also moves the recitation of the four, such as Vajrasattva, by the four, such as Akshobhya, and performs four prostrations, making the main deity the nature of all four, and says that they are blessed by the four, such as the Dakinis. It is said that one should first understand the meaning of those mantras and then make prostrations, so the meaning of the mantra is: the four phrases "Ātmanaṃ niryātayāmi" (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:ཨཱཏྨ་ནཾ་ནིརྱཱ་ཏ་ཡཱ་མི་,ātmanaṃ niryātayāmi,ātmanaṃ niryātayāmi,I give myself away) show "I give myself away." For what reason is it given? The previous four phrases of that mantra show that it is for the purpose of offering, serving, and honoring all the Tathagatas, as well as offering, empowerment, circumambulation, and the activity of offering. "Sarvatathāgatavajrasattva" (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:སརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ་བཛྲ་སཏྭ་ནི།,sarvatathāgatavajrasattva, sarvatathāgatavajrasattva,All Tathagata Vajrasattva) means that all the Tathagatas are also Vajrasattva, so the basis is the same, and it is the same for the others. The last four mantra phrases mean: calling upon those (Buddhas), please bless me, please empower me, please circumambulate me, please perform the activity of offering to me, this is the meaning (of the mantra), and the meaning of the second mantra should also be understood from this. Thus, whether the five families of Buddhas or the deities of those families reside in the center and the four directions of the mandala, they should be expressed in accordance with the situation. Nagarjuna and Zungjuk Salwa clearly explain that at that time one should visualize oneself as the four, such as Akshobhya. The way to prostrate is, in the Condensed Compendium, it says: the first time is to extend the vajra palms, with the whole body; the second time is to place the vajra palms at the heart, with the forehead; the third time is to place the vajra palms on the crown of the head, with the mouth; the fourth time is to place the vajra palms from the crown of the head...

It is said that after putting it down and placing it in the heart, one prostrates by touching the ground with the head. In the case of the four mudras, Kunnu said that the four, from Vajrasattva to Vajra Karma, enter the four places such as the heart, exist in the form of four symbols such as Vajra, and viewing these themselves is offering and reverence, etc., are the four. The rosary says: Some say that there is great bliss of union in the heart here, and there are other statements about placing it in the heart and other places, but one should not practice at this time, that is another ritual. Thus, the practice of visualizing the union of the father and mother deities in the heart, and the placement of symbols in the four places such as the heart, were refuted. This scholar's rule is that when praying to each family, it is not to make offerings and reverence to all the Tathagatas, and offerings and empowerments, and offerings and turning the wheel of Dharma, and the thought that they are blessed to be capable of perfect activities, and there is no mention of merging into the deity, etc. The Well-Gone Victor said: When the deity enters the heart, observe completely with the mind. It also says: Ratnasambhava Vajra, contemplate that empowerment is taking place. It also says: The nature of Amitabha, contemplate that it is a special ability. It also says: Secret offerings are power, think of meaningful accomplishments. Having said this, it is not contradictory even if the deities of each family merge one by one. The meaning of the mantra for prostrating to the guru is: To offer oneself for the sake of revering the guru and for the sake of completely saving and uniting all sentient beings, these two are only slightly different, it is said in the thirty-second chapter of Vajra Dakini. Under the four mudras, Sarahaha, Krishnacharya, and Gyalwa Zangpo spoke of holding the mantra vows, and the former two said that when giving the vows, they take them from the disciple's hand and give them. Sarahaha did not say that it was merely proclaiming the vows, but the ritual of receiving them, because the words of proclamation themselves are sufficient to be transformed into the ritual of receiving, so it is intended to be easily understood. Darika said that after washing the disciple with water from a vase, blindfolding him, and holding a garland of flowers, he takes the vows and prays. This is at the time of preparation and the main practice.
