If the flowers fall outside of round objects and the outer vajra fence, there will be no accomplishment. The mandala will also not be shown. After establishing that one is qualified by reciting mantras, etc., it is placed in another instance. It is said in the general tantras that after performing a peaceful fire offering, it is then placed. It is also said that if the flower falls on the wall, and if it falls on the main deity, it is said that it will be quickly accomplished. If it falls inside the outer vajra garland, it will be very difficult. Then, take that flower and tie it to the garland, reciting "Om, prati gṛhṇa stvaṃ imaṃ sattva mahā bāla" (藏文:ༀ་པྲ་ཏི་གྲྀཧྞ་སྟྭཾ་ཨི་མཾ་སཏྭ་མ་ཧཱ་བཱ་ལཱ།,梵文天城体:ओम् प्रतिगृह्ण स्त्वम् इमं सत्त्व महा बाल,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ pratigṛhṇa stvaṃ imaṃ sattva mahā bāla,汉语字面意思:嗡,接受,你,这个,有情,大,力), and tie it to the student's head. Many tantras and ritual texts say to tie it to the head, so it is not enough to just place the garland on the student's head. The meaning of the mantra is: "Take this great powerful hero." In the commentary on the Vinayasamuccaya, it says: "Great powerful hero, please completely take this." It is said to recite this after tying the garland on the head. Therefore, the so-called "great powerful hero" is calling upon the deity upon whom the flower falls, meaning "take this student." The same content is summarized in the Compendium: "By tying it, one will be possessed by that great hero, so this will be quickly accomplished." It is also said in the Ornament of Kosala: "The term 'mahā bāla' is calling upon the deity as a lord. This is the empowerment of the garland, the first one. Being possessed by the great hero means that one will be completely taken care of until one abides in the essence of enlightenment." Also, in the Upper Commentary, it says: "Then, discard that flower garland," which means that if the garland is offered and the deities completely take care of one, then one's superior, intermediate, and inferior accomplishments will be completely fulfilled, because the complete taking care is mentioned, which is "Om, prati gṛhṇa svāmīmaṃ sattva mahā bāla" (藏文:ༀ་པྲ་ཏི་གྲྀཧྞ་སྭ་མི་མཾ་སཏྭ་མ་ཧཱ་བཱ་ལཱ།,梵文天城体:ओम् प्रतिगृह्ण स्वामीमं सत्त्व महा बाल,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ pratigṛhṇa svāmīmaṃ sattva mahā bāla,汉语字面意思:嗡,接受,主,这个,有情,大,力). Therefore, the teacher speaks the truth and abandons arrogance, and the student also, according to the aforementioned visualization and mantra recitation, thinks that the flower should fall on the deity with whom he has a connection, and throws the flower with faith from the depths of his heart. Then, the teacher takes that flower...

Having tied (flowers) on the student's head, (saying) please protect this student of your lineage until he attains enlightenment, thus entrusting the student to one's own tutelary deity, this is called the flower garland empowerment, therefore rich meaning is needed. The necessity of doing so is: relying on it to practice, one can quickly attain accomplishments, and in all lifetimes one will be taken care of by this tutelary deity, so it is very important. Therefore, in the auspicious Vajradhara mandala ritual, translating "please enjoy this powerful sentient being" in this way is not a good translation. Here, the "Stainless Light" says that if you throw flowers on the powder color (mandala), it will become a sin of damaging the color, so you should throw flowers on the symbol residing on the victory banner vase. This is because (the sutra) says "A good heart has no sin," and the "Garland Treatise" says that this is for people who do not understand this situation. After that, visualize the moon and the deity in the student's heart, རཾ་(藏文,梵文天城体:ram,梵文罗马转写:ram,English literal meaning: ram)on the forehead, and two ༀ་(藏文,梵文天城体:om,梵文罗马转写:om,English literal meaning: om)with flames in both eyes, and then recite: ༀ་(藏文,梵文天城体:om,梵文罗马转写:om,English literal meaning: om)Today Vajrasattva, strive to open your eyes, the vajra eye is unsurpassed, please open all eyes. ༀ་ཛྙཱ་ན་ཙཀྵུཿ ཧཱུཾ་ཨཱཿ སྭཱ་ཧཱ་(藏文,梵文天城体:om jñāna cakṣuḥ hūṃ āḥ svāhā,梵文罗马转写:om jnana cakshuh hum ah svaha,English literal meaning: Om, wisdom, eye, Hum, Ah, Svaha), and unveil the face. This verse is in the "Compendium," and in Chinese it is "Hey, Vajra, look." The vajra eye is: the eye that has no obstruction to all forms. Unsurpassed is: the same as the Buddha's eye. All eyes are: the eye that sees all. Opening is: because the obstacles have been cleared. Shantipa explained it this way, and the view of the Garland Treatise is the same. In summary, your eyes are opened by Vajrasattva or glorious Heruka, and after opening, they will become the unsurpassed vajra eyes that see all, and the student should think so too. At this time, Jaya Sena said: Then the two eyes are on the moon, ༀ་(藏文,梵文天城体:om,梵文罗马转写:om,English literal meaning: om)on the moon in the heart, after correctly visualizing the deity, look at (the student's) eyes with those (deity's) eyes, with (the deity's) light, in the nature of the deities in the mandala, which is no different from the eyes, after correctly visualizing, then give, the two eyes are completely gathered, in this way light radiates from the two eyes, (shining) on one's own eyes and the deity's.
