From there, perform the actions as described. Whoever is a fully accepted disciple, if they are unable to come due to some adverse condition, then have others take their place. Thus it is said. The Vinayasambhava Sutra states that after the mandala is drawn, the disciple should remain. These glorious holders and teachers also say that after the mandala is completed, the consecration and the disciple's stay should be discussed. The remaining three stays and the drawing and accomplishment of the mandala are to show the commonality between the deity, the disciple, and the initiation, so it is the order of speaking, not the order of practice. In the Garland Tantra, it says: In this way, merely have the disciple stay, and for the purpose of staying, offer the arrangements of the deities' mandala, and for the sake of the wisdom line and so on, mentally arrange it in the sky above the mandala's ground. Just as it is said here, after the disciple stays, raise the preparatory deity in the sky, and then draw the wisdom line below it. The third has five parts: adjusting the motivation and giving the inner initiation, supplicating and having them hold, taking vows and blessing, discarding the tooth stick and giving three handfuls of water, and encouraging and protecting them, and advising them to examine dreams. First, here, if staying in the house where the mandala is to be made, the painted images and so on should be covered, and the flowers and vases for the preparatory deity should be hidden so they cannot be seen, as the earlier Tibetan lamas said. The disciples should bathe and wear golden clothes, as stated in the Bhadrakalpikasutra, then make a mandala, kneel, hold a flower garland in their joined palms, and tell them: It is not for the sake of seeking the perfections of this life and the next, but for the sake of obtaining the perfections of the three bodies of the Tathagata, that you enter the mandala. If so, then the perfections of this life and the next will also be obtained. This is a summary of the meaning from the General Tantra, and the text of the General Tantra is a good translation of the Four Hundred and Fifty Verses: Some seek the meaning of practicing secret mantras, therefore they enter the mandala here,

Those who desire this life, forsake the other shore to seek this life. Others seek the benefit of other worlds, and by having much faith, they seek the benefit of the next life. The wise should enter the mandala, not desiring the fruits of this life. If one desires this life, the benefit of the next life will not be achieved. If the thought of the benefit of the next life arises, then the fruits of this life will also increase. Thus it is said. When entering the mandala, with three motivations, entering for the sake of practicing mantras is to desire higher rebirth in this life. Other than that, entering with the desire for merit is to desire higher rebirth in the next life. Entering to seek the benefit of other worlds is to seek the perfection of the two bodies. Among these three, one should act like the third, and not like the first two. One should not desire the fruits of this life. This is shown in this inferior world, so it is said that the higher rebirth of both this and the next life should not be sought only for the perfection of this life. That which is established by reason is shown by the last four lines. Shantipa's explanation is excellent, and it is very consistent with the three motivations for entering the mandala that are taught in the tantras. Therefore, in some mandala rituals such as "Clarifying Union," it is translated as: "Whoever seeks the accomplishment of mantras should be initiated into this mandala." This translation is the fault of the translator. If one enters with the aim of attaining unsurpassable Buddhahood, then the two higher rebirths will also arise incidentally. Therefore, one should enter the mandala with the aim of attaining Buddhahood. The guru should communicate to the disciple in a way that inspires this thought in the disciple's mind, hinting at the place of visualization. Then, the disciples are placed into the body from one's own mouth, emerge from the vajra path, and abide in the lotus of the mother. The Buddhas and their consorts, drawn by the light of the seed syllable in the heart, enter from one's own mouth and dissolve, visualizing it as empowerment, and then placing them at the east gate of the mandala. At this time, what kind of pride of which deity does one generate, and with what means does one draw the disciples into one's own mouth? As it is said in "Clarifying Union," one should draw them in with the light of the heart's seed syllable of the main deity that one visualizes. It is not clearly stated here what deity the disciple should be generated as, but Lawapa says that one should visualize Heruka with one face and two arms.
