Lotus must be accomplished, so it is said. These are repeatedly familiarized, which is to examine the name of recitation, not the repetition of the letters of the mantra. In the Avatara, after the explanation of recitation with signs, for the yogis who are wise and understand that all dharmas are without self, it is the yoga of ultimate wisdom. The explanation of the differences in recitation established in That Reality Condensed and Vajra Peak should also be explained here now. As it is, That Reality Condensed and the teachings spoken in the explanatory tantras are cited and arranged as explained. The third is, as it is said in the Peak, cultivating by examining with the wisdom of individual discrimination is primarily vipassana. What is said in That Reality Condensed has both samatha and vipassana, which are established with and without analysis. The Ornament of the Kosa also says, "Samatha is the characteristic of samadhi mind, that is, the mind completely enters into one object to be focused on. Vipassana is wisdom, which is also mind-born, having the characteristic of completely distinguishing dharmas. With the mind of equal placement, this is with outflows, this is without outflows, this is completely afflicted, this is completely purified," thus the aspect of distinguishing. Thus, the nature of samatha and vipassana is spoken of in the same way. Separating outflows and non-outflows is said to be vipassana, which is vipassana focused on as many as there are. It should also be understood that focusing on what is as it is is also definitely indicated. If the settling meditation of samatha declines, it will eventually turn into sinking and dullness. If the analytical meditation of vipassana is done exclusively, it will eventually turn into agitation, so samatha and vipassana should be meditated on equally. Agitation is the object of impermanence and so on, which gives rise to weariness, and dullness is the object of praising the mind, such as the appearance of great light, and so on, which should be kept in mind and clarified. Having done that, if one attains entry naturally and equally without manifest effort, then one attains union, as it is said in the Ornament of the Kosa, "If the part of samatha is greater, the mind will become distracted near dullness, and if the part of vipassana is greater, it will become distracted near agitation." Therefore, successively attending to appearance and attending to impermanence.

Furthermore, turning back the two things that make the mind close to distraction, one should abide in engaging with the object to be contemplated. With the rope of mindfulness, from wherever the state of calm abiding and insight, like a horse, has declined, turning back the mind and applying it to what is correct is engagement. Because of engagement itself, the manner of speech of entering in this way means: entering without intentionality. That is its meaning. Sangye Sangwa (Buddha Secret) considers that when meditating on emptiness, it should be done in conjunction with the control of life force and the application of wind, starting from the letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, literal Chinese meaning: A), contemplating oneself, the deity, and the letters to be recited, manifesting faith in the emptiness of all phenomena by meditating on them as not arising. Holding the mind's abode, life, and energy both within, with a mind free from appearing as form, etc., one should contemplate oneself, the deity, and the letters to be recited as being like the sky. It is said that when exhaling, one should experience the touch of the subtle air in the nose and release it, remembering the deity in front, and then, as before, control the life energy to proceed. Thus, if one has not ascertained the meaning of selflessness in view, and merely abides without grasping at anything and without conceptualizing, or if merely through the power of wind practices, etc., one generates a samadhi of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality, and considers this to be the yoga of meditating on the suchness of things, this is not only not highest yoga, but it is not even the system of the three lower tantras. Even if one has ascertained the meaning of selflessness in view, but when meditating, one remembers the view but does not cultivate the certainty of the view, and merely cultivates generally not conceptualizing anything and abiding, this is also not meditating on the meaning of suchness. Therefore, those who desire liberation should seek the view of selflessness, and having found it, understand the way to cultivate its meaning without error. Khenchen Kunga Nyingpo repeatedly mentioned sporadically in the Fifty Verses on the Guru and the Great Commentary on Chakrasamvara that establishing the view of emptiness is extremely important. In Vajra Arising, he only mentioned the seed of meditating on the three equalities at the end of meditating on the deity. However, like Sangye Sangwa (Buddha Secret), continuously practicing the Fifty Verses on the Guru and the way of meditating on emptiness in the explanatory tantras
